80 is definitely a record for a mass shooting. The Virginia Tech guy holds the record in the US. I think? 33. I read an article that the Norway shooter used an 'automatic rifle and a handgun'. I'd like to know specifically what he had. With an AR15 you can use a 100 rnd drum but I doubt he had that... There's hi-cap drums for AK's too.

If he used the rifle in this photo, I don't think it's an AR-15, or any of its derivatives:

It's hard to tell from the angle, and through the aftermarket accessories, but his rifle might be a Ruger Mini-14 or Mini-30.  The magazine protruding below the rifle seems too small for either of those calibers (.223 or 7.62x39), but that might be due to foreshortening because of the angle of the photo.  Does Ruger make a 9mm version?
