I think writer may not see the harm this does for "cause". Like typical for PC folks.
When you stamp the label of "rapist" or "fascist" into just regular life of regular people, what does it help? Next time there IS the REAL rapist and fascists doing their things, people may already be confused. "Was there rape or was it just guy watching porn like I have done and blamed for"? "Is nazi threat actually nazi organization harassing people or was it just some normal guy like me saying I prefer not to take more immigrants at this moment?".

I guess this can be seen in recent incidents when city of helsinki rented confrence space for national socialists. When issue is brought up by your typical antifa troopers throwing insults and blames to every direction, the man responsible for renting place replies "I could not know if these are neo-nazis or old nazis" and it would be most of all humorous. You got 10 bald youngster with hands on their pockets doing nothing while large group of demonstrators appear as bunch of hermits and troublemakers yelling nonsense. At least target WAS the real nazis, but it would be as effective as group of feminist standing in front of porn store. Everybody else wondering what's the big deal?
