This is incredible they caught him, one of the most legendary cold cases in serial killing, super interested to hear all the details once the trial starts!

Agreed with all of the above! Mom of all people was the one to tell me. I've read that some of the charges against Ramirez were actually attributed to this guy since they had similar tags and were operating simultaneously in the sane area at one point. I would say this is one of the most intruiging true crime cases, if not THE most.

i heard from a co-worker that the east area rapists dna was confirmed because a relative submitted dna to ancestry.com or something like that.... i haven't researched that fact myself, but if true i guess that means "someone, somewhere" is monitoring and comparing samples. seems like a painstaking and paranoia fueled task to endure. makes me think they had him, then used a stolen sample off a suspected family member as an "official" way to nab him.

report on the police scanner earlier this week about a guy chasing another guy with an axe down the street from me. 1 in custody. next day "big killer john" who did 15 years in prison for attempted murder cashes in his $6 in natty daddys at my work and explains that it wasn't an axe, it was a sledge hammer. he was arrested, so i guess thats true crime.
