Ian Brady has appeared in public at a mental health tribunal to try and be sent back to the prison system from special hospital.
Some interesting press quotes from the hearing so far I found:
The panel was told that Brady in the 90s had correspondence with a woman who claimed to be a reincarnated Nazi, and told a visitor that he could "change the laws of psychics" (sic - presumably the widely discredited journalist who is reporting Paul Britton meant physics) and "walk through locked doors at night".
The tribunal has heard from Dr James Collins, a consultant forensic psychologist who is Brady's responsible clinician at Ashworth, who goes through previous reports relating to Brady. In one, Brady admitted that he does not have control over his thoughts and said he was being controlled by green beings. Brady is reported to have said: "I am being controlled by external things."
One incident is described where Brady was said to have been listening to 'white noise' through headphones whilst being fed. The tribunal is told it could have been to block out hallucinations
There is a possibility the last report above is actually describing a nurse overhearing Whitehouse album - to my knowledge he was extremely infuriated by Peter Sotos's afterword to Janus and would have surely demanded to know more about this person who was impugning his writing and 'existential exercises'.
