Pisscharge - Edën 2018
What an awful name, but by the end of the first track, I'd forgotten that.* A little of everything here, and it is ALL good. Traditional Brazilian/South American hardcore with full-on anger and vibrant energy. 80's Crossover and thrash via tracks like "Marielle" and "Templos Malditos". Prog bass lines for pepper. Italian HC vibes. Because I hear "Crush the Demoniac" everywhere, sort of like I do various riffs from the first Dayglo Abortions' album, take this for what little it is worth, but I hear "Crush the Demoniac" in "Siglos de Sangre". Some would prefer it more raw and less full, but not me. I like the more professional, powerful sound. Nothing's sterile here. If you listen to the rehearsal tracks, which is also available via their bandcamp, you can decide for yourself.
*coincidentally in the
charge, this made me think of the underrated 1996 Recharge album that also had a weak moniker and poor visual aesthetic. Musically, they have nothing in common, but the Hamburg '42 album also had unusually large production and mostly went unnoticed. I liked that album on most fronts, but mentioning it invited crickets to conversations.
