I first seriously got into noise in college messing around with microphone feedback and pedals. I got very into dance music after that and set noise aside for a long time. But over the last year or two I've felt drawn back to it again.

I don't think many of these people post here, but if you're not already familiar with them Met Glas / Pube Provisional Society and D.F.H. / Aught Void / Public Assembly System are all Calgary based. There are some players out in Edmonton as well (K.M. Toepfer / Lead Lozenges, Echthros, Edmonton Noise Fest, etc). You'll find plenty of Canadians at the S&W board as well https://screamandwrithe.com/forum/

I know most of these names (I've played with Echthros, D.F.H., and Met Glas!). However, K.M. Toepfer is new to me. Do you know if he is still active?

He's still active, maybe a little more behind the scenes these days. He may have played the Edmonton noise fest this year but I'm not sure.
