I was never the biggest fan of Pere Ubu, but their influence is undeniable. From proto punk together with members who would go on to form Dead Boys to post punk before punk had even really taken off with Pere Ubu - that is quite impressive. I think Dub Housing is probably the one I've listened to the most with them. I saw them live many years ago at an almost empty venue. They put on a good show regardless.

RIP... however reminds me of the only time I ever encountered DT in the flesh. Was a festival where he was on the bill with his Mirror Man "opera". A Polish friend - who was also performing - saw some of their rehearsal and I asked what she thought. She made a throwing up face and said "workless artists". I knew exactly what she meant.

Not a fan but of tha band, way too technical for my taste, but first 2 albums were decent stuff.
