Maybe not the right place to post this, but I have been wondering, would you trust the pharmaceutical companies? I met with my mom today, I was talking to her about weed, how I'm interested in it. She doesn't like the idea, then points out my hypocrisy with being okay with weed, but not wanting to take anti anxiety medication. She said "you could have gone all those years without anxiety, if you just took anti anxiety medication". The thought of giving money to a pharmaceutical company so they can "fix" my anxiety, I don't trust any of that stuff. A lot of people seem to attest to anti depressants and anti anxiety medication, the stuff just creeps me out. It seems so Orwellian, in that we live in this society where such a thing is necessary, we create these problems for ourselves, then we fix them with drugs. It's unsettling.
I'm not worried about conspiracies as much as I am worried about side effects, changing the chemistry of my brain, pharmaceutical companies basically wanting to make money off of you so they can sell you their drugs. They do the same with schools. They put you in a rigid environment which isn't designed for creative people, then they put your mind on stimulants if you feel that it's too boring. Same with society. If you find this society too boring and too depressing, you'll become one of the millions of people on anti depressant and anti anxiety medications. It seems so fucked up, I don't want any of that stuff inside of me.
