CHOP SHOP - PRIMER was good. Got it already like year ago, but didn't comment in anywhere I guess. Somehow felt that my copy was little.. ehm.. contemporary vinyl, with notch more snap crackle & pop than was needed. Some friends to their copies play just fine. Not a problem really. Sound is decayed and little extra surface noise won't destroy it. It still makes me really wish there was something like Small Cruel Party had on Harbinger. Multiple CD set that collects most of the artists work in one set.
Packaging wise, presentation and the length of smaller releases surely must be intentional. I do have most, but also acknowledge, it is not that often one thows biz card cdr short tape into deck. Most of his output would fit on... 3-4 cd set?
I was listening the fairly rare split yesterday. Chop Shop / Small Cruel Party 10". I have this title unsplitted, so it is perfectly playable, which most of the pressing is not. RRR issued it originally literally cut in half. He saved handful from pressing to be intact. Chop Shop on that 10" is unlike on any of his other releases. One ultra minimal tone. Not heavy or forceful, just his traditional, fairly thin rusty hum. It has a notch more "tone" on it. This one minimal sound goes through entire side, without "compositional" changes. Stuff like this, would be really good for CD version.
