I revisited this project lateley after some online talk and the last ever gig a few months back. I'd got into IFotS after seeing him at Rammel Club years back, but that final performance in a small pub was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in my life. Back in my Heathen Harvest glory days I reviewed a lot of the releases from the Burial Hex split onwards and was allways impressed. So I played Who Will Help Me Wash My Right Hand and Tears Royal yesterday, really blown away. In my head I always had Behavioural Decline as the main release along with the debut The Power of September. But I forgot how experimental the project was, some of the synths are just really odd and good, but both the albums I played seemed to do what Behavioural Decline did and more.I feel the project always pushed itself into new territory. I thought to myself right, now it's time, Power of September is going on, that despite being the debut destroys, it is intense beyond belief, my fookin' cdr had snapped some how, I'd got it off discogs years ago, all good, but somehow mine has snapped, boo hoo! Played the 2nd release with MessiahComplex and that hit the spot, super raw.
