Noise VHS (and DVD)

Anyone collecting (and watching!) noise VHS. Any absolute important things. Either now, or at the time.

Being from era, when there was no internet yet, and not even possibilities to see live shows, some of the 90's VHS compilations were really mind-blowing experiences. First time seeing Japanese noise performed. All vast variety of international industrial appearing on things like OEC's Macrocephalous Compost series.

It may be hard time going back time when video footage was not so common, and one could be involved in "scene" without ever seeing how the live gigs are.

DVD era is already much less mythical, but I certainly do not dismiss the format and its possibilities.

I have a handful of VHS tapes from relatively recent collecting of them. Always buying them when the price is decent enough. The vast majority of these are likely to never be reissued on any other format, so only way to see some of these classic gigs is via this medium. The real pain for those on this side of the pond is not being able to watch all of the ones in PAL like the Tesco Heavy Electronics tape with Con-Dom, Grey Wolves, GO, etc. (still looks nice on the shelf, though).

I see more VHS popping up lately but they do seem to be more novelty items than any proper release. The DVD has definitely suffered as a format but doesn't necessarily deserve the stigma it gets, especially if CDs seem to be on the upswing once again.

Fortunate to have a lot of old 90s video footage to sort through for upcoming Knurl DVD.
