Why the format size change?

Now it wont fit nicely on my zine shelf, and will have to sit in the cupboard with the latest issues of SI and those two art zines I own.

Why the format size change?

Now it wont fit nicely on my zine shelf, and will have to sit in the cupboard with the latest issues of SI and those two art zines I own.

Well, there is a couple of reasons:

1: After a decade of doing the same thing, I am looking to change things up with format and presentation to keep things interesting (and partially necessitated by the fact I have considered folding Noise Receptor at many points in the last 12 months).

2: From Issue no.10 onwards I will be using global print hubs for distribution rather than printing and distributing from Australia. This makes postage less of an issue, noting the small A5 format was originally chosen for postage-related reasons.

3: With a marginally increased size, I can slightly increase font size, without reducing overall content (noting that a few have commented the font is too small).

4: The new print system I am using does not offer an option to print at A5 size and to include inside cover printing. So, the potential to keep the A5 size at the expense of having a crap presentation with blank inside covers was not acceptable for me. So I looked for the next size up which allows inside cover print.

5: In a capitalist context bigger is always better!
