Seer of Decay still planned for a reissue? Even though there are two pressings in high numbers out there already, it can still be a little difficult to find.

yes, I have had the files for long time waiting on my computer.

I have toyed around with idea with compiling the (old) 7"s for CD. Not sure if it is doable as master tapes are gone, I have just the 4-track versions that would need to be mixed down to stereo tracks.

Couple old vinyl only releases are something that would be good as CD, but I have not discusses with artists who are on the splits/collabs if they still want to be reissued.

Also some of the tapes feel too good to remain "just tapes". Swarm of parasites / Chance to be cruel as CD has been idea for a long time.  Tapes have been made so many copies, I don't know if there really is a "demand", but at least among cd-only listeners.

A lot of currently available Grunt CDs are running low in stock, and I don't think I'll be instantly repressing them, so those who have been waiting and thinking these things are available forever... they will be available for a while, but will be then out-of-print.

Grunt/Macro split reissued on CD would be nice.

I second that idea, as that would be great indeed!

Enjoyed the footage of the live Grunt performance the other day, for once, a noise show translated nicely on my phone (the audio generally doesn't give it justice unless you have decent headphones in)

Somehow I overlooked the recent Grunt – Kiveen Ikuistettu CD + Book.

And it was lovely to see recent footage of a live show. So nice to put a face to the master of ceremonies here! 😍

Merry Christmas all!!

File had almost half minute silence in the beginning, but didn't do any edits so gig is present "as is". Not sure if physical release is absolutely needed due repeating some of formerly heard songs, but feels like recording is too good to just be buried in archives:

I enjoyed this, Mikko. Thanks.

May I ask a couple of simple, newbie, fanboy questions?

In shows, (and on record!), are your vocals/lyrics rehearsed? Or improvised? Or a bit of both?

What was the motivation for the book with the Kiveen Ikuistettu CD?

Vocals are rehearsed. There has been old materials, old live sets, where vocals were improvised, but long time they have been written before hand, and most often rehearsed and experimented (efx, pace, intensity, volume,..) just like the noise itself. Vocals tend to be "noise" itself, not only narrative element.

Couple weeks ago was communicating with couple guys via email and we talked about "Kiveen Ikuistettu" so can post it here too:

Spent long time in making it happen. Even if material is not actively worked on all the time, it is sort of slowly developing project of getting the artwork ready. Getting sound components suit the purpose. Making something else than merely "regular album". I have no interest to take part in "art scene" so to say, but there are visual works that belongs into Grunt albums.

There is intent to present albums as more than just something quickly passing by things. More than something virtual experience. More like documented fragment of years of actual physical work/ideas/manual labor/etc.  Of course this was what Grunt has been doing for long time. Especially these times I feel "noise" should be more than just streaming sound or images popping up in IG feed. It would have to somehow be connected to life in more profound ways. Activities in physical world too. Of course not sure if people would see release in such way, but it is kind of "activities in physical world" and in presence of people and objects, and not something virtual.

Kiveen Ikuistettu sound was performed live in front of audience, all visual material something I had to go to places, travel or search for locations. Actual photos, not manipulations. Or when doing acrylic paint prints of the photos, it was all physical manual labor involving all the imperfections and physicalities, such as unedited live shows crafted in front of audience are. Lyrics/themes/locations have elements that connect to themes. As a listener, can't say what they feel about it. I am fine if it is experienced just as a decent noise blast, but for me it is something that is present as more than just "album".
