Specifically in Europe... Who is making high quality/tough contact mics these days?

I've also always used drum triggers, and I think even this same brand. They're pretty good, especially for the price, but they always eventually crap out or start humming. not European but I suggest crank sturgeon's mics. I have several of them and they are all excellent especially the heavy duty ones that you can also drive on with your car. no kidding.

i second this recommendation. man makes quality products and they're dirt cheap.

thirded.  I still use a Traumatone GOAT mic on my main pelican 'shaker box', but yes - EVERYTHING else i use mics for, including the live snorkelling sets, are from Crank Sturgeon.

Not European but I think Cold Gold are the best and sturdiest I've used. Also, they are not covered in so much glue so you can still get some good high frequencies out of them. https://www.contactmicrophones.com/
