Experimental / noise releases you have listened the most

NO PART OF IT

I generally prefer figures who have a distinctive style but are always changing, and I return to them specifically because I feel I am in good hands, even if they change based on my expectations in some cases, and stay consistent in others aspects of their work.   Distinctive styles are important, and the idea of keeping a distinctive style while also evolving is important to me.   This is why referring to specific releases may be difficult for me.

Controlled Bleeding - Body Samples (first I'd heard)
Dry Lungs I (also first noise comp I'd heard)
Mnemonists - Roto Limbs (this is a perfect tape)
Dave Phillips (various things)
Wolf Eyes
Merzbow (Electric Salad, Rainbow Electronics II, Pulse Demon, etc)
various COIL
Haters - Shade of Fire (or the collab w/ Merzbow)
various Nurse with Wound
Dog Lady (early)
Skin Graft
NAMANAX
Honestly, I like to collect RRRECORDS recycled tapes and just listen to them randomly.  I still haven't listened to many of them.  I have about 48 of them.   and the ones that I expect to be good are generally good.
A caterpillar that goes around trying to rip the wings off of butterflies is not a more dominant caterpillar, just a caterpillar that is looking for a bigger caterpillar to crush him.  Some caterpillars are mad that they will never grow to be butterflies.

Deathpile - G.R.
Immediately impressed with the sheer power of this release upon first exposure. Its an undeniable mainstay.

Streicher - Legion St. George
One of the first PE/noise releases I heard. Listened to it over and over at first and still revisit it frequently.

Prurient - Cocaine Death
Acted as a primer for this project. Over time, I have come to prefer other releases of his, but this is something I have listened to over and over again.

Zyklon SS - Iron Division
My interest in the project was already high prior to this release. This was easily my most listened to tape the year it came out. I just find the tone and execution of the recording so malicious, could not keep it down.

FFH - Make Them Understand
Contemporary classic. I've listened to this release countless times almost as if studying it. Everything sounds so precise without relying on complexity.

Brethren - Alienated and Radicalized
Anthemic and relentless. Constantly in my listening pile.

Rasthof Dachau - Blut und Boden
My appreciation for this album has grown within the past couple years as its been a fixture on my commute to work. From my short walk in a dumpster of a city to the crowded morning rush of BART trains, this just syncs up perfectly.

Blood Axis - Gospel of Inhumanity
Not sure if this counts under the "experimental" tag, but this album definitely pushed me further into the realm of post-industrial music that ultimately led to PE/noise. It was completely foreign when I first heard it, yet intriguing. Since then its a release I always go back to.

Going to try and post ones that haven't already been listed. Some of my favorite releases are not on here though. I can think of a few that I love more than most of these, but only bust out on certain occasions.

Slave State - Age Of Man
No track skipping on this one.

Nicole 12 / Prurient - Love & Romance
I still fall back on this regularly. Generally not huge into splits, but this never disappoints.

The Grey Wolves ‎– Red Terror Black Terror
First tape I ever heard from them. I always come back to this one. Side A has probably been listened to somewhere in the hundreds.

Herukrat - I Bear Witness
Possibly my favorite tape of all time. I can't seem to get past how sincere and emotional this release is. No bullshit here. No pervert electronics, no dead bodies, no rape or murder. Just one man's documentation of his conversion to Islam. The heaviest thing I have ever heard in my life. Ever. Plain and simple. Herukrat moved mountains with this one and it's timeless. Definitely hesitant to put anything that came out in the past couple years on this list for fear of me not replaying it as much as time goes on, but this will forever be solidified in my rotation. Are you ready to be judged?

Pleasure Fluids - Show No Mercy
The replay value is insane on this one.

Brethren - Savage Inequalities
Don't agree with the man and his politics, but his hatred is honest. Side A is the stronger of the two so that gets heavy play.

Koufar - Lebanon For Lebanese
Modern day legend. The last track on the album Flares Over The Bay Of Jounieh might be the single greatest track he has ever recorded. Absolutely cathartic. Perfect length for an album to get multiple listens. My job consists of biking around the city for 30-40 hours a week and I always have my bluetooth speaker on me. People on the street get at least a couple seconds of Mack yelling as I fly by down the block.

Bloated Slutbag

Incapacitants "No Risk No Return" from Quietus

Listened to this over and over and over again when first acquired, a slot previously held by

Incapacitants "FLS Syndrome" from Feedback Of NMS

Plenty of others that might do the job just as well, or better. But call the above the Default Standard. Anytime I get bored with my various excitements of the moment, whip out the Incaps. Does it every time.

Not really sure about listening these the most, but they were the first to come to my mind (sorry for my badly written and pathetic comments, hah):

John Duncan: Tap Internal
I think together with the Mort Aux Vaches CD this was one of the first Duncan records I ever had. Before I heard any audio, I read an interview with him, where he talked about something like scanning the short wave channels at night until he finds something he can relate to with his feelings and state of mind at the moment. Since then I was interested.

Death Squad: Isolation As Intent
Theological Genocide is one of my favourites as well, but this is my most listened Death Squad. Fuck God Live - such a PE anthem! Damn great that it was reissued as LP recently. Also being forever grateful for the Autarkeia CDs.

Merzbow: Venereology
Well, blew my head right off. One of my very first "real" noise records I ever owned. Couldn't believe something like this even existed. It felt like my search for something "different" had come to an end. Fucking grunge was over back then, thankfully.

Pogrom: Multicultural Degeneration
I'm coming back to this one quite often. Violent, powerful, and the white barbarian manifesto. YESS! One of my favourite PE/Noise projects.

Bizarre Uproar: Rape Africa
Could be any other record as well. BU is probably the project I listen to most often. Friday afternoon after hard week at work, Sunday evening to prepare for the next week. Filth & Violence always rules.

Throbbing Gristle: D.O.A. - The third annual Report
Bought this on my first trip to London. "Hit songs" like Hamburger Lady or We hate you (little girls). My first contact with something that was called Industrial Music.

Alfarmania: Skräcken
Kneedeep in the swamps of desolation

Mania: Ultra-Negative
I totally worship every Mania release I own. Blasphemy maybe, but Mania is more important for me than Taint.

Sick Seed: The Great Corrupter
Have the CD since when it came out. Few days ago I got this on vinyl as well. Only shows how great and important this record is, at least for me.

Streicher: All 5 reissue CDs on Industrial Recollections
Listening over and over and over again. Never getting tired of them.

I'm impressed by the the lists here and detail with which you all celebrate your most listened-to releases. I, now 40 and quite omnivorous in my listening, rarely play anything more than 3-5 times before I file it away or sell to fund new purchases. That said, the experimental releases that are most deeply ingrained in my brain come from a time and place (Seattle, early/mid '90s) when I was a pink-brained, sXe teen sponge for wild sounds/images and had little money to buy all that I knew of and wanted. Still, I had good guides and ears and was lucky enough to see and hear crucial things at a critical time.

* Third Organ - The Pornography of Despair cs (SSS Productions) -  my first noise purchase. '94, 3 bux. OM records on Olive Way in Seattle. Had no idea what was contained therein and was terrified that my mom would find the porno xerox cover. Played repeatedly on my boombox in the bathroom when I showered and thought the sound blended nicely with the gush of water. Pretty sure my parents thought that I was troubled or gay.

* MSBR - Fracture of Silence cs (Sounds for Consciousness Rape) - First exposure to the genius of Koji Tano. Tape smushed into a torched block of foam. It sounded like that, too. Got this when Anomalous Records operated out of basement apartment on Capitol Hill. My buddy and I would pore over the 5-6 page stapled/print-out catalog and strategize our purchases between the 20-30 bux we had to spend every couple weeks. Eric who ran Anomalous provided a great service and was endlessly patient with a couple of 15 year old dorks who didn't know what we were buying. Thinking back it felt like we were buying drugs.

* Xome / Cock ESP split cs (EF Tapes) - Slightly older and with a bit more cash to to burn, I wrote to every mailorder and tape trader I knew of with a promise to buy everything if they'd send a list. Al at Sound of Pig Music and Ben from Zabriskie Point were very generous and sent me free stuff when I'd follow through. John Olsen sent me some early American Tapes stuff (Daylight Savings Time) that I didn't ever hear because I'd have had to destroy it to get at it. Winter '95 I got the EF Tapes catalog wherein Emil wrote something like, "count the number of time the word 'noise' appears in this zine and I'll send you a free tape of your choice." I highlighted it 128 times and but didn't specify any tape in my letter back. He sent this with a note like, "get a life."

As far as experimental/abstract sounds are concerned, I keep going back, again and again, to the most minimal, blank sounding ambient/etc kind of sounds. The standards for me are eleh, Radigue and Calineczka for minimal, and Saturn Form Essence and Sable Sun's "Signals" series for ambient.

There are other projects similar to these that I listen to, but if it's who I listen to the most, it's these.
