Friend was telling that the new LP, Atom Heart Motherfucker, is best thing since early days. Well... Possibly! But listening Quimtessence tape. I'd say evern better. Fuck. It displayes S&Q are still on very top of the game in their craft. It's noise unlike done by other noise bands.

It is hard to be analytic. My soft spot is at Jesus Christ / Jissom Killers, yet there are several unique releases. I'm certainly proud of the Industrial Recollections reissues. What would be great, is re-issue of the 7" materials. They do work as-is. But truthfully, how many ends up putting Jim Seed Collector or Piss With Drills Of Blood on turntable as often as they would demand? I would assume collection of the 7"s on CD would get more listeners than original 7"s.

Some of the 7"s are absolutely unique. Something I should dig up from archives and listen with focus. While not being harsh in same sense as distorted pedal noise tends to be, it is often far more fierce, broken and disturbing. Humor can be a bit too much at times. When it's nearly slapstick kind of stuff. But there are a lot of releases that are bizarre and dark, despite being humorous. When you cross certain line in "bad taste", it is humorous nevertheless.

Agree with everything said - although Jesus Christ \ Jissom Killers material is undeniably classic, new stuff is also incredible. The group has managed to constantly remain interesting through decades, and has a unique voice that I would argue is impossible to mimic. Manages to be extreme, creepy, humorous and dark at the same time. A huge body of work as well, there's always something new to discover. I'm wondering if anyone has heard the Cuntybubbles tape that supposedly came out on VAVAA.

Live set last month was fantastic, and some of the forthcoming material is really exciting as well

I'm interested in hearing from people who know about what differences/similarities there are between their recorded output and their live performances. Because, from what little I've seen of the latter on YouTube, there seems to be quite a distinction. Their recordings, while varied, often can veer into total Harsh Noise fuckery, whereas the live performances seem more art-performance based, albeit pub-rock art-performance. But that's based on very little knowledge.

"Pub-rock art-performance" is pretty spot-on as a description for live performances, which are quite different from the recordings. Always a tightrope walk of chaos, sometime it doesn't work but when it does it's fairly unique. Milovan trained under Jeff Nuttall in the 1970s, and the late Diz Willis who was very much involved during the '90s had an even longer pedigree going back to Welfare State performances for Fluxshoe alongside COUM Transmissions in the early 70s etc.

Jesus Christ and The Jissom Killers done in collaboration with original co-founder Nonnen are stone cold classics that made me a fan before I became involved. I'd say the series of singles that followed was stronger than any of the succeeding 90s full lengthers and I'd love to see a label reissue those as a double CD.

The Powerfuck, Lavatory and Atom Heart Motherfucker albums of recent years are my favourite records, not for my own involvement which was minimal - it has always been Milovan Srdenovic's baby. But for the sheer absurdity, obscenity, depth of content regarding true crime and the north of England, the queasy line between humour and horror and unremittingly brutal and unsettling yet often very bizarre sounds. More S&Q shows outside of the UK are in the pipeline this year and so is a fully revamped release of the elusive Cuntybubbles. Still a fan and it has been amazing to be a part of this.

Still due later this year with a tie-in event TBC. Many people have had problems with the shoes of the original doll coming free in the box and we hope the problem will be rectified.

The Diameter of Elvis' Colon CD is decent harsh noise, with certain parts where it's hard to decide whether they wanted to make silly sounds or they were just genuinely experimenting and that's how it turned out. The 7" with Merzbow is solid noise, if not particularly outstanding. The collaborative 7" with Cock E.S.P. is pretty retarded, but due to its short length it's quite enjoyable.

Diameter of Elvis' colon definitely an interesting release...the harsh noise elements are really strong on this one and it got repeat listens in my car stereo once I got it. I have a feeling the silly sounds you're mentioning may have been intention, given the title of the album, but I couldn't say for sure.

As for 7"s, definitely love Piss with Drills of Blood as mentioned before, Jim Seed Collector, and also really enjoyed the split/collab with K2. The splits/collabs with Macronympha (Transsexual) and Taint are also great records though I think the previously mentioned Piss with Drills of Blood probably tops them...the Macro collab is definitely a contender though if only for packaging alone, let alone the material!

Also a HUGE fan of the English Method tape...a lot of it makes me think they are sort of a precursor to Yellow Tears in a way, with some of the gargling sounds.

I really like 'Quim De La Quim', that one's great, I like how the b-side is the a-side in reverse and the track titles. You can hear the original music that was on the tape in certain parts on my tape though, it's some shit Dutch rock and it's pretty annoying. Anyone else noticed this on their copy? (if they own a copy)

I managed to get all the reissue tapes from VAVAA and a copy of Atom Heart Motherfucker when they were released. Got fucked around big time getting them and received many amusing e-mails when chasing and later on their admissions of lying and begging for my forgiveness! Seems like this is just the norm and to be expected when ordering from them.

Other faves include the split 7" with Macronympha - sick, with some classic trademark S&Q sounds on there, love the booklet and 'Porn Again' on Solipsism is up a solid release too.

Really looking forward to hearing the new album. They were great in Berlin, what a gig.

Long Live S&Q, there's nobody quite like them.

S&Q have not been on my radar and I recently picked up The Yellow Album and Atom Heart Motherfucker and I have to say I am really impressed! I love the idea of people working in collaboration - Smegma, Wolf Eyes, heck even Bizarre Uproar are all examples of the sort of noise I'm into where it's done in a group setting. I see AHMF and The Yellow Album are newer records so I'm excited to delve into their back catalog - that Hospital reissue could not come at a more opportune time for me!
