The criteria being:

Was it good or bad?

(But seriously though: Do you like every HNW that you heard?)

Edit: Groesk and Cementimental (the best handle ever!) gave better answers. Sue me.

I accept that.

I'm presently enjoying (enduring?) CD1 of Legion Of Andromeda / Vomir 3CD split. I suppose this does not strictly qualify as HNW - or does it?:

A constant, unchanging hatebeat, a short vocal burst repeated over and over in time with the hatebeat, an unchanging background...an unchanging everything!

CD1 sees 4x18min+ tracks - only the words and the way the short vocal burst dances around the beat will change, from track to track. I found the 4 choices rather interesting, and varied. But perhaps my perception of this is magnified due to the relentlessly unchanging other aspects? The 4 different vocal burst created a sense of progression/journey. ie The 73min CD "went somewhere".  (I know I'm not making sense now.) 😂

After about the 200th repeat of the vocal, it becomes strangely hypnotic. This shit pummels your brain, even at moderate volumes.

I admire the courage that it takes to execute such a vision. This is wonderful!!

Edit: I love the review here:

Edit again: Shockingly, on track 4, I sometimes detect a slight breakdown in the vocal - maybe this was a longer loop - this very tiny detail creates much tension. The "singer" is getting tired? Brilliant!!

Not HNW, but https://www.discogs.com/Kylie-Minoise-You-Suffer/release/1051948

In honour of this thread I purchased Kylie Minoise - Empire Of Puke! yesterday, even though I believe that he is more PE than HNW. I hate to admit that I knew nothing about him until this thread. (I cannot even find a review anywhere for this purchase. I'm sure that it will be lovely.)

As I hear Empire Of Puke for the second time, I will say:

Probably 50-75% of this is "HNW-like".

This is a wonderful album, with great energy and flow.

Imho, based on my research, Kylie Minoise is under-appreciated / overlooked.
