Yes, one of the most prolific Noise artists here in Brazil, having been producing music for more than 10 years to this day. Even WCN released some copies of "Semeando Esperança, Colhendo Ilusão". Talked to him a couple of times, seems like a really nice and calm person.

I'm going to check this compilation out definitely sounds interesting. Now, I don't know about the other countries (wasn't Strict from Ecuador or something), but here in Brazil, we don't have a Noise scene like in Japan or Finland, for example, not least a Power Electronics one. Most of the artists who make Noise-related music produce Harsh Noise or abstract forms of Noise in general, from digital sound collages, to electroacoustic free improv, to noisier Art rock style acts which employ those kinds of sounds... but no Power Electronics, not in the classic way, to say the least. That was something I wanted to break. That being said, for some shameless self-promotion, here is my first endeavour on creating thiskind of music, with portuguese lyrics and Whitehouse inspiration:

Even though no one cares, new material shall be released onwards. Cassette formats intented.

Some interesting noise acts from Brazil (aside GP):

GENGIVAS NEGRAS

ABESTA

^^^^^^^^^Both precursors and sadly R.I.P. projects.

P.M.N.T. is Fabiano Pimenta also of Jericho HNW, Dead Oceans, Granada... His A-Tros early project is gighly recommended too.

D.O.M. is very raw and cool, also he does a lot of splits so you can taste some other brazilian acts.

YERSINIOSE is Mario Brandalise Baril.

https://seminalrecords.bandcamp.com/album/1911

He did some stuff with Paralyzed Blind Boy (Guilherme Henrique) that pulls a lot from Power Electronics.

SEMINAL RECORDS have plenty of interesting brazilian experimental sounds (Victim!, Verjault, Herbert Baioco, A-Tros...), but proceed with caution:

https://seminalrecords.bandcamp.com/

VICTIM! is my favorite project from Cadu Tenório, he started a little more P.E. and actually released somethin on Fusty Cunt.

https://cadutenorio.bandcamp.com/album/503

FLORES FEIAS is Aline Vieira from the label MEIA VIDA that released some interesting things and did the PERTURBE festival that was awesome, there are some videos from performances on yt. She and MEIA VIDA (along with her partner Gustavo Paim) seem to be going for more post-punk sounds nowadays (that are actually very good).

Thank you so much for your reply, I confess I wasn't aware of your project, but that by a few seconds listening I'm immediately gripped. It's exactly how I planned to sound like, even though mine demo sounds vastly different and more amateurish. Sure, I'm aware of some of the projects mentioned here: Gengivas Negras, Cadu Tenório, Abesta... but there's definitely more to explore within these vast lands, I guess. Fucking awesome, anyway.

Finally I get to finish my new release. As the title implies, I wanted the album and songs to be an absolute Monochrome, in terms of texture and sound repetition, and an overall low-frequency approach imprinted on its general atmosphere. I intended it as a instrumental-only endeavour, comprised of a lot of tracks with very few up to none variation, and as short and straightforward as it could be - came out as a 40min release. Some songs have more variation than I expected, but since the general recording session took almost four hours (hahaha), it was really hard for me to edit the whole music contained therein. I tried to cut larger parts on which I had worked with the same gear into smaller and smaller ones until it was satisfying; but then, everything still amounted to huge material; thus I clipped off all the shreddy edges and unfit frazzles off this giant blackened rag, as if was working on a wedding dress, until I finished.

Lo mine third demo, then; yes, hope is not too bad after all.

As devil worship interests me greatly, references to Quimbanda tend to awake sparklings in the mind. May I ask if you use the name Exu as reference to a certain tradition or as a word, possibly generally used in your language regarding certain types of spirits?

I know there is 2nd book a'la Fight your own war and they're looking for if someone could write about Mexican noise. Anyone able to do so, or knowing someone who can, could be in touch with editor.

It's very interesting to hear Mexican noise is going to have its own chapter on that book, didn't even know a second edition was in the way. Unfortunately, I know nothing about it since, well, I'm brazilian. But looking forward to information regarding this local scene, aswell as the final outcome of this edition.

I don't know if its going to happen. Editor just contacted me asking if I know anyone who could do it. She actually said "Latin american / mexican", so not just mexico. I think there is somewhere in this forum announcement about the second volume of book, that says they are looking for writers and anyone can suggest topics of interests they could contribute.

Without getting into too much behinds the scenes detail, when did she get in touch about this?  She accepted a review I wrote (on The New Blockaders), but later told me that the book has been shelved for now.

FreakAnimalFinland

ah, ok. So this is probably old news then.
