Info
"Index of Mechanical Signal Decay" is a curated compilation from Dunkelheit Produktionen, mapping a collapsing system of transmission, structure, and perception through contemporary underground sound. The release moves through states of Power Electronics, Industrial, Ritual and Noise, tracing a gradual transformation from controlled aggression into fragmented abstraction and finally into pure sonic erosion.

Across 33 contributions, artists from different countries and backgrounds contribute to a shared framework of tension and decay. Harsh signal structures, mechanized rhythms, ritualistic sound design and dense noise environments form a continuous but unstable architecture — as if documenting the breakdown of a communication system that can no longer maintain coherence.

The compilation is not organized as a stylistic overview, but as a progression of intensities: from confrontation to dissolution. Early stages are dominated by direct and physical Power Electronics assaults, followed by more ritualized and industrial forms that suggest structure, repetition and control. The final section dissolves into Noise and Experimental approaches, where form itself begins to disintegrate and only residual signal artifacts remain.

Due to spatial and curatorial limitations, not all artists affiliated with Dunkelheit Produktionen could be included in this release. "Index of Mechanical Signal Decay" therefore represents a selective snapshot rather than a complete statement — a fragmentary archive of a constantly expanding network of sound practices.

What emerges is not a narrative, but a condition: a mechanical index of breakdown, where signal and noise become indistinguishable, and meaning collapses into vibration.

Dunkelheit Produktionen presents this compilation as both document and rupture — a trace of systems failing to hold their own transmission.

Info
Hor-cheret refers to the name of Horus as a child of Isis and Osiris in Egypt mythology. This is not meant to be seen as a an imperfect and childish god, but as the one who is placed over the speech of men concerning the gods. His imperfection is a reminder to overcome the own inabilities. As Plutarch says, the finger at his mouth is a symbol of silence and secrecy.

Hor-cheret is a ritual and martial music project by members of Vortex, Nam-khar and Delta Komplex, formed as an artistic reaction to the despiritualization of our world, dominated by corruption, ultra-capitalism and nihilism. The music of Hor-cheret invoked ancient mythology to confront modern forms of decay. Primeval energies against a world of greed and fear.

,,Nana wa tei" is the old nomadic law of hospitality: Even your enemy will be treated peacefully when he speaks out this phrase as he enters the homestad. In return he has to return this offer peacefully and with respect. This ancient law is the key metaphor to understand this cycle of tunes dealing with the illfated situation of cultural clashes in the 21rst century.

Info
Once Dunkelheit started focussing on Noise and Power Electronics, the laws of attraction caused many a great new artist to cross our path. One of the discoveries we are most proud of bears the name Spur On To XS. After a highly acclaimed debut and a convincing live show, the new full-length ,,Sacrifice as the Cornerstone of Society" presents this ambitious dutchmen at the top of his game. Even those who may have found the debut a tad too unpolished should love what he is doing by now.

,,Sacrifice as the Cornerstone of Society" proves one thing very quickly: Spur on to XS is hungry and up for the kill. Deep throbbing Industrial textures blend with tasty Noise, some wallish crackles are thrown into the mix and all forms a lovely ouevre of impressive Harsh Electronics. Some passages remind the attentive listener of the dominant, flanger-heavy narrations known from the biggest and baddest names of the German scene, other tracks are unhinged Noise brutality delivered in a supreme fashion. Everything flows beautifully and shows that this is indeed not the work of an amateur, but an evolved artist.

In many ways, this new output consists of the oldest virtues of Heavy Industrial Noise interpreted in a modern, contemporary fashion and the result is nothing short of stellar. Spur on to XS is still relatively unknown, but ,,Sacrifice as the Cornerstone of Society" should definitely change that very quickly. Between a bleak landscape of weak, uninspired releases, this one sticks out like a sore thumb – and you wouldn't want it any other way.

Interview with Stephen Petrus, Murderous Vision (USA)

An in-depth 22-minute interview with Stephen Petrus of MURDEROUS VISION (USA), recorded two days before Rituals Over Limburg IV.

Shortly before the fourth edition of Rituals Over Limburg, we sat down with Stephen Petrus for an extensive conversation about Murderous Vision, his work and the world surrounding the project.

The interview was recorded on the german side, just two days before Rituals Over Limburg IV in Heerlen, Limburg Region, The Netherlands – shortly before artists and audience from different countries gathered for two nights dedicated to ritual, industrial and experimental music.

Two days after this conversation, Murderous Vision took the stage at Rituals Over Limburg IV at Nieuwe Nor.

This interview is part of our ongoing documentation of Rituals Over Limburg and the artists who contribute to the international underground surrounding it.

RITUALS OVER LIMBURG IV — OFFICIAL VIDEO REPORT

wo nights. Ten artists. One underground community.

After more than a month of production and editing, we are proud to present the official **RITUALS OVER LIMBURG IV VIDEO REPORT**.

🎥 **15 minutes and 28 seconds** capturing the atmosphere of two unforgettable days in Heerlen, The Netherlands.

Industrial, Power Electronics, Dark Ambient and Ritual sounds. But Rituals Over Limburg has always been about more than what happens on stage.

This film takes you beyond the performances.

Backstage encounters, conversations with artists, intimate moments, preparations behind the scenes, impressions of the venue and its surroundings, and the people who make this gathering something truly special.

Featuring live footage from **all ten performing artists**, alongside interviews with musicians, crew members and visitors.

Some moments were loud and intense. Others were quiet, personal and almost invisible to the audience.

Together, they tell the story of **Rituals Over Limburg IV**.

Our deepest appreciation goes to everyone who became part of these two days — the artists, visitors, friends, and the dedicated crews of Nieuwe Nor and Oefenbunker.

**INDUSTRIAL · RITUAL · DARK AMBIENT · EXPERIMENTAL**

7 & 8 NOVEMBER 2025
NIEUWE NOR · HEERLEN · THE NETHERLANDS

Some things take longer to emerge from the darkness.

Many of you have been wondering why the official video report of Rituals Over Limburg III has taken so long to surface.

The footage was originally intended for a different project, and while those plans have not been forgotten, there is still something special waiting to be revealed in the future.

Following the overwhelming interest and positive response to our Rituals Over Limburg IV video report, we decided that the recordings from the third edition deserved to be shared as well.

And now, almost one year later, the time has finally come.

Rituals Over Limburg III brought together nine international artists for two days dedicated to Industrial, Ritual, Dark Ambient and experimental sound.

Beyond the performances, the festival once again became a gathering of individuals from different countries, united by a shared dedication to the darker territories of music and art.

This official video report captures fragments of those two days in Heerlen — the performances, the atmosphere, the people and the unique spirit that continues to define Rituals Over Limburg.
