Greetings friends,
Leadlined by Degradation, the first vinyl release on Brachliegen is out today!
https://brachliegentapes.bandcamp.com/album/leadlinedWe started working on this record on 31/01/2020, so we're v excited that it's finally going out into the world. Below there's some information on the release, which is available on 180g vinyl LP with a two sided riso printed insert.
LEADLINED is a 35-minute lamentation of the perverse ideology of the English, shaped by sound collage and heavy electronics. The record is a carrier bag of improvisation and fragmented assembly. Post-industrial synthesis gives way to full-spectrum noise, and intrusive thoughts are excavated via aural saturation bombing. Shaped by collapsing signal chains & biting delays, LEADLINED pores over the rapine chain of degeneration that is England. Through bricolage it attempts to come to terms with the inescapable, morbid nostalgia of the nation's psyche.
The record was recently reviewed in Noel Gardner's New Weird Britain for The Quietus:
tquiet.us/NWBJuly22Degradation is label mainstays D O'Donoghue (who records under the moniker Vinegar Tom) and George Rayner-Law. The record was mastered by Michael Lawrence, with artwork by Simon Moreton.
Straying into the world of vinyl pressing has been a slightly daunting rigmarole, a test of our logistical and financial capabilities, so any and all support for the release is very much appreciated. But with this said - and taking into concern the current cost of living crisis - attached are some download codes for the release; any who are finding things a bit tight currently are warmly encouraged to help themselves:
