Happy new year 2024! 6 new Satatuhatta releases available now:
MOGAO - TRI-KÀYA CS (SATATUHATTA-76)
https://satatuhatta.bandcamp.com/album/tri-k-yaTri-kàya or Three Divine Bodies is a contemplation on different stages of reality. With his new tape, Mogao offers harsh chants and spaced-out psychedelic junk metal soundscapes. Musically, it lands in the realm where Popol Vuh meets C.C.C.C. But fear not! This isn't any of your synth-flavored, new-agey crystal music. The focus remains on screeching yet meditative harsh noise. Recorded live in the Mogao Monastery with no overdubs.
Chrome tape ltd 100 copies.
JUNTA - PATHETIC FRUSTRATION CS (SATATUHATTA-77)
https://satatuhatta.bandcamp.com/album/athetic-frustrationJunta makes its Satatuhatta debut with the mesmerizing 'Pathetic Frustration' cassette, featuring the most uncompromised material Junta has recorded to date. Feel the waves of a free-flowing, electronic harsh storm soar through the thick air, resonating with the sonic landscapes crafted by Japanese masters.

TAHMA - TAHMA CS (SATATUHATTA-78)
https://satatuhatta.bandcamp.com/album/tahmaTahma is a newcomer in Finnish noise, a project that was introduced to me few months back with a self released tape of 5 copies. I thought that tape was too good to remain that small, so it needed a bigger run. It shows a new artist, maybe still on a journey to find his sound, but has maturity and vision for good noise. It seems, sounds are made using fairly simple building blocks but finding out a fair amount of personality from it.
Soundwise this is 'broken noise'. There is something wrong. It's like being stuck on a short circuit loop without finding a new connection, a way out. Dead ends of sparking electrical wires franticly looking for a ground like someone who's drowning are gasping desperately air to breathe. Damaged brain synapses trying to fire up conciousness of decayed remains but resulting only static physical ground fault. It all sounds still very organic, like a brainstorming hive mind operating inside an ant's nest observed on a microscopic level.

TOANCHE DWELLING - WENDAKE EHEN CS (SATATUHATTA-79)
https://satatuhatta.bandcamp.com/album/wendake-ehenToanche Dwelling is the project by Canadian Barret E. Lediard, also known as the Vast Field Magnetism label boss. I first heard Toanche Dwelling on the 'Hyleidos' tape on Absurd Exposition, which had that timeless noise sound I was immediately drawn to. The tape sounded like it could have been from the 80s, not just because of the lo-fi murky tape production sound but also due to choices made in composition. It possessed an artistic vision for something 'new,' avoiding excessive imitation of icons and presenting something individually compelling.
On this new tape, 'Wendake Ehen,' the listener embarks on a hazy journey, more like a vortex where the perception of reality becomes blurred. It's like heading into a tunnel on a familiar commuter train, but suddenly there's no visible way out. It feels as if caught in a spiral where the journey turns inward, into oneself. Soundwise, there are no fireworks or light psychedelia. It's a very crude recording, like a dive into a drain pipe filled with moist earthly textures. The tape doesn't reveal its cards on the surface, but with careful listening, clues start emerging, and memories shake off from the unconscious mind.

CORRAL SHUT - UPSIDEDOWN CROSSBREED CDhttps://satatuhatta.bandcamp.com/album/upsidedown-crossbreedCorral Shut returns to Satatuhatta with its fourth release so far. For 'Upsidedown Crossbreed,' the approach has gotten even nastier, more brutal, and more uncomfortable than before. Brain-lobotomizing feedback struggles with unpleasant choking signals, creating a sonic torture chamber, blocking out all existence, leaving behind nothing but horrible chaos and an unsettling mess.
CD in round metal box, limited to 100 copies.
Also available Corral Shut T-shirt. Grey Fruit Of The Loom 'Super Premium'. Limited sizes.
JUNKYARD SHAMAN - THE UNBORN CD (SATATUHATTA-81)
https://satatuhatta.bandcamp.com/album/the-unbornCd in cardboard digisleeve with hand assembled woodblock print on rusted sumi paper made by artist + A4 insert. Limited to 100 unique copies
Excerpt of the liner notes:
"...my path of blowing zen is that of the Unborn Zen. It has no strict limitations, it has no schools, no intention to attain anything from it, it has no intention of becoming better or achieving some higher end; it is just sound. Accompanied by a self-made metal percussion instrument, it is the sound I want to hear existing in this world of endless separate forms, and all the way within it, lies the reality of the Unborn Mind"
-Jere Kilpinen / Junkyard Shaman
