Following individual releases on labels such as Satatuhatta, Total Black, and Narcolepsia, two of harsh noise's current flagbearers split forces for their debut appearance on Tribe Tapes.

CACOPHONY '33' - METALLURGI C44



Reissue of a 1994 tape incorporating elements of post-punk, dark ambient, and neofolk. C'33' had appeared on countless compilations throughout the 90s from the likes of RRRecords, Strength Through Awareness Branch, and Bandaged Hand Produce.

THOM ELLIOTT - PERFUME C60



First released in 2008 by Bare Wire Technologies. Source sounds for this album come from a (circa 1900) electro-shock therapy machine converted into a synthesizer. Cassette inserts smell of perfume.

MACRONYMPHA - "CRACK" CD JEWEL CASE



Reissue of the 1994 b/b tapes release. Arising from the same sessions that produced the legendary cassettes "Grind" and "White Music", Macronympha's highly sought-after "Crack" is a tour de force of psychedelic harsh noise and deranged, in-studio manipulations. Master tape transferred by Grant Richardson, and restored faithfully to the original issue.

RANDY GREIF - "GOLDEN JOY CLUB" CD JEWEL CASE



Gaining prominence during the 1980s home recording movement, Randy Greif has built a devoted following over the years for his unorthodox compositional style. On his early tapes, industrial and dark ambient textures are melded with cinematic song structure more akin to the most wildly experimental of post-punk acts. "Golden Joy Club", first released as a cassette in 1986, is a well-known highlight of this era. Transferred from its original master tape and newly restored for CD by Grant Richardson, the album now serves as a perfect introduction to Greif's body of work.

DODGE JONES RAGE - "WEST COAST POWER OUTAGE VII" CD DIGIPAK



"What's the Deal?

The Dodge Jones Rage power trio was started in late 2021 as a distributed pandemic-driven experimental-noise-audio collaboration by three long-time grizzled sonic veterans. After sharing some initial recordings with each other, suddenly things started moving quickly, and it was clear that this was destined to be, as they say, A Thing.

Thus far there have been releases from Absurd Exposition, Charnel Music, Phage Tapes, Pressortape, and !Mondo Anthem!. All releases are and will be titled West Coast Power Outage, with increasing Roman numerals to distinguish them. This CD is number VII.

The noises offered by the trio are deconstructed constructions, distorto-rumble making cracks leading to alternate universes of broken-down machinery and curious aliens. Or comparatively calm glacier-like slabs of atmospheric, yet occasionally punishing, layers of ooze. Or confusing, mind-melting caverns of bliss. Or perhaps psychedelic collections of puzzling, rumbling, hissing sounds from inside the multiversal computer as it finally breaks down and comes to a halt. Or something mixing all of those. You never know, and neither do they, so everyone's even."

Following well-received releases on labels such as Satatuhatta, Krim Kram, and White Centipede Noise, Cyess Afxzs debuts a new series based on the novels of Philip K. Dick. It is tempting to describe this work as post-noise. But such verbiage is reductive at best.
