Quote from: cheeses on September 09, 2023, 08:56:07 PMHow about this one: Ryoko Ono (alto saxophone) & Toshiji Mikawa (electronics)

This led me to a couple of live sets from them: https://youtu.be/trcib8IGUj4 /// https://youtu.be/A730vEp9Ums
Some great moments of harsh but also laptop beats, wacky touchpad noise and other stuff that kinda kills it for me. Second gig is more restrained experimental. Not sure which vein the CD is in.

Know Ono's work from Sax Ruins but wasn't aware of her more recent instrumental prog metal band, Plastic Dogs, which is killer!

Quote from: Bruitiste on September 12, 2023, 12:25:58 AMThe Alan Licht / Tamio Shiraishi: Our Lips Are Sealed CD on RRR/Pure is a very noisy and screechy 20 minutes.

Some painful earhole torture there, not so different from the Snuff album I returned to afterward!

Quote from: Volcano Queen on September 12, 2023, 01:55:40 AMThe late works of Masayuki Takayanagi absolutely need a mention. Sounds like if Fushitsusha was a jazz group.

There's also the Wolf Eyes & Anthony Braxton collaboration, but the former record is a lot more consistently noisy.

Definitely a fan of Masayuki Takayanagi. Not so much Wolf Eyes but will check those Braxton collabs.

This K2 (electronics) + .es (alto sax/piano) collab is a brutal masterpiece.
