Recently my harsh noise duo Aether performed a set where, after doing our typical junk metal smashing, we took off our clothes and covered ourselves with various foodstuffs, including mustard, ketchup, mayo, honey, jam, whip cream, etc. During this part of the show, a backing track played narrations of an excerpt from David Novak's book "Japanoise: Music at the Edge of Circulation".
