Is there anyone else out there that finds the work of power electronics/noise artist Scatmother to be some of the most important and best when it comes to modern day power electronics/noise. I have the utmost and greatest of appreciation when it comes to Scatmother and I'm wondering how many of you share that same sentiment. Scatmother for me not only represents pe/noise in the best and most decadent when it comes to a modern scope, but also represents it in the best sense of any time or period before and quite possibly after. Scatmother not only utilizes the elements of power electronics at a very skilled level, but also manages to conjure up some very interesting industrial and harsh noise elements to the overall mixed audial output, making the project from it's inception a bit of a new age anomaly, but perhaps a leader for the future of all modern "noise" to be inspired by and grow from. In my opinion Flowers Of Maltreatment is as much a classic as Whitehouse's Great White Death album. I'm curious as to what others think of this great noise phenomenon known as Scatmother. Is Scatmother yet another artist who revels in the world of transgressive disorder, or is Scatmother a modern revolutionary wake up to a new form of modern noise/pe decadence that should be studied with great splendour for decades to come.

I mentioned elsewhere that listening to SCATMOTHER "Voodoo Okzident" tape not too long ago was sort of wake for how good material actually is. My memories of some of these recordings are already distant enough that can't really tell difference of each recording, but gut feeling just indicated he has evolved a lot?

The thematic shift from earlier work (propagating relatively "standard" topics) to the releases touching upon Eastern belief systems and aesthetics was immensely interesting. The sounds themselves are of course always engaging.

FallOfNature

Artist's evolution has been a distinct and great one to watch. The 7"s should not go unnoticed, too. Great material on both.

KillToForget

Always been a fan of the project and I'm glad he's kept it interesting. I haven't interacted with him since deleting my Facebook years ago, but I'm glad he's still been putting out great stuff. Voodoo Okzident is one of my favorites from last year

Desolation Galaxies has posted a picture of a split tape with Scum (JP) which I assume is available soon. That's a nice pairing.

That will be a killer tape indeed! I'm looking forward to hearing that one.

Everything Scatmother has done - from the raw brutality of Purulent Sublimity to the electric surgery of Voodoo Okzident and the splits with Scum and Chaos Cascade (special mention for the SCT side of The Insignifiance of Human Life) - is gold to me. The sheer violence of the first three full-lenghts has been simply evolved after it. I do think Sadotantra might be for many the definitive turn where both noise and lyrical concepts have been brought to the next level. Masterful project, as well as the individual behind it.

I've been a fan for some years now, though I'm not 100% up to date with the entire discography and am genuinely interested if he's actually used audio samples of the child abuse film "Daisy's Destruction" in his work or if that is just a myth.

VORACLE

This is one of those projects I would usually ignore due to the band name (yeah this is a stupid notion, I know). That said, listening to Vivikta right now, and it's quite intense. I'll admit I've got a hard-on for pro- Eastern Vama Marga/Evolian themes nowadays, though.

Yes, Vivikta is his best work, in my opinion. Relentlessly fierce and I liked the straightforward song structures. Those first albums on F&V were okay, but after that, I didn't follow what he released. Vivikta made me interested in this project again. I also liked the lyrics on The Insignificance of Human Life.

Are you sure it wasn't an Orchestra of Skin And Bone sample?
