Been collecting Bastard Noise for a few to several months and was finally able to go through Eric himself in May and June. I like the aspect that most my MITB/BN collection is a high percentage of vinyl. Compared to other artists in my collection is CD, CDr or cassette percentage wise. I have been on a winning spree for the past couple years of not purchasing mundane noise. All is great and interesting. Bizarre Uproar/Filth & Violence, and now Bastard Noise. All of it is far from the mundane.

I also understand there's been connection between Aspa, Markkula and Wood since 90s along with a few others. I think of 90s word of mouth or was it something else connecting them internationally? I don't want to mislead with misinformation. More of wanting to ask how.

Also  Eric Wood wins my award of the most unwarped records I have ever received in the mail!

Eric certainly loves his vinyl, and he has only the highest expectations for quality.  I was sent a copy of the recent Bastard Noise/+Dog+ collaboration lp, and that has to be the heaviest record that I own---it seems almost twice as thick as most other records in my collection!  He has also used the same vinyl mastering services used by the likes of Tupac and other very big bands.

I think he is very generous as well. Interesting enough while my PayPal is overdrafted, I have been doing email/money order sales with him. I definitely am impressed with his offerings. One money order $125 and another money order $80 and I got a plethora of history of his work and his current work. Along with some patch and sticker goodies. It's a pleasure to see how everything is high quality and no short cuts. Very pleased!

Yeah, getting a 2lp of the Merzbow collab from a few years back for $20 was (and still is) a great deal!  The stickers and patches are just a great bonus.

that is fantastic! I am wondering if you mean the one on Relapse Records? Retribution By All Other Creatures? I got that from Relapse themselves. The 2xLP, CD and shirt associated with the album. I just sent him enough to hopefully get Our Earth's Blood IV 5xCD and hopefully the shirt I requested. Hope this purchase goes smoothly. Email/Money Order purchases are cool and I'm glad he's open to it.

Yes, that is the one!  I picked up the 5CD from him in person last time I saw one of his shows---good stuff as well!  I really appreciate the idea of a massive set of collaborations, and the sheer quantity of artists he works with throughout the set produces quite of range of sounds as a result.

Our Earth's Blood IV 5xCD I'm sure will delight me in a very busy day. I have the Our Earth's Blood V 7-in and that's collaboration of the Japanese Sound Masters. I had that spinning all yesterday evening. Today's spinning is Live At St. Vitus Bar. One more listening before bed. I get trapped in multiple listenings. Often times I designate a set of releases for the day or just one.

ha---My reading comprehension is at it's finest, I guess.  That one is definitely a collaboration.  From what I recall Eric telling me (and probably also in the liner notes on the release) is that both projects contributed to each track.

Lots of PE artists sample audio from documentaries, news reports and similar sources. How do they deal with copyright? Sometimes I find the perfect soundbite but it's obviously not in the public domain. Do I just go for it anyway?

RANT: There was an old tape for sale on Discogs, for the nice price of 10EUR. I decided not to buy it -yet- cause of shipping cost, so i was waiting to see if seller adds anything else i m interested in to combine. Someone else bought it a couple weeks ago. All good. Till i see in Discogs today the very same tape up for sale for 30. I checked the feedbacks. He bought, recieved, tripled the price. FUCK YOU parasite !

Or you see others putting up their whole collection for sale but each item has an insane price. Not really for sale, fishing, just in case. 'Smart' guys. We stupid. We should do the same so we fuck up the market altogether.

On a Discogs related note: received a notification earlier, standard "something from your watchlist is for sale" message. Turns out it's an apparently immaculate copy of Snuff's S/T double cassette (including the blood and jizz filled condom), that I've been after for years. Missed out, of course. Think it sold within 10 minutes of listing.

Rarity is another conversation entirely; Theo's tape was €10, so I'd wager not all that rare, and was immediately jacked up in price 200%. Your point stands, though.

I don't know guys. Is there a way we can fix that ? I am afraid not. Too late now. Judging on myself, i have stuff that can be sold highly, i mean prices i wouldn't myself pay for a tape. Do i will to sell it cheaper than market prices ? No ! To prove what ? I would feel like a fool.

I guess the only thing we can do is to not buy from people who follow these shady parasitical tactics. For example the guy i was talking about has stuff i planned to buy, at OK prices. Stuff i really want. But now i dont want to help him in his petty business.

I have thought some prices are ridiculously flipped and exploitive. I have talked to artists who don't have something in stock but I tell them I found a copy in lemens terms they go about saying "I'm glad that seller was kind to you" or "that was steep". Often times I always thought you got to pay the cost to be the boss. Living without something is fairly easy other times I'm very feverish for indulgence. Last year alone I payout mint for stuff in my budget. Guiltless? Heck yeah! But I hit a slow down period. I can see from a lot of discogs sellers and prices people are flipping or there's a standard, even a humble pricing.
