I heard Facialmess and now I'm interested in noise. I've been sick of music for years so it was the first thing that rekindled the flame.

I'm coming from the punk side of things and Facialmess has the same energy I like. Can you recommend more? Previously I've listened to fennesz and lots of extreme hardcore, and have messed around with feedback looping a bit.

I'm also interested to learn about techniques and gear if any text on the subject exists. I'm also coming out from a synth hardware obsession and have this thought that someone must be doing FM synthesis noise, but haven't found much.

BatteredStatesofEuphoria

If you're after something with that kind of dynamic, high energy sound along the lines of Facialmess to start with, I'd recommend Pain Jerk, Government Alpha, and Kazumoto Endo. Knurl is another good one, being he came from a punk background and still has a bit of that sensibility in his works. More on the power electronics side of things, but Folkstorm is another project with an obvious "punkish" sensibility in his work.

Obviously, there's a ton out there to explore and this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you're checking out samples of these bands on Bandcamp, Youtube, etc, looking at some of the recommendations is always a great way to discover new projects.

Tribe Tapes

Dub Made Flesh is a fan favorite, popular even with those who aren't really too fond of noise in general. A tape I always come back to is his split with Bob Marinelli.
