Looking for 'ritual PE'

Posted this a week ago on Reddit as I'm a seasoned newb in pe (only know the better-known releases), friend linked me up to this forum, here it goes;

Ritual PE?

Looking for PE with quite a violent, ritualistic vibe. Like observing some kind of blood sacrifice ritual. Been delving into ritual ambient earlier, but most of it was to 'slow' imo, sometimes it even felt too clean. Imagine a bog body crawling out of its peat-y grave and wreaking havoc across the humans it comes across. Imagine some sort of pagan cult in the middle of cutting throats, working themselves into a frenzy. That's what I'm looking for: frantic, violent, 'ancient' sounding, as if it's both primitive and freshly dug up by an archaeologist, favourably with some metallic clanging... Can't compare it to any project, I simply don't know one which does something like this.

Trepaneringsritualen was recommended, but I already knew it and think of it as too slow, even somewhat polished. My experience with death industrial in general is that it lacks energy. Sword Heaven had clashing metalophones/drums in there, which was a good thing. Sarin Snow/Totenrune split and Sarin Snow - 'Mighty Blood' had the best thematics, evoking images of ancient pagan bloodshed.

Anyone with greater knowledge to help out?

Theodore

In my mind a ritual is slow, and that confuses me. Also i think your description of sound better fits industrial than PE. Maybe others can help. But 'imagination' is very subjective.

Probably due to the connection of ritual>atmosphere>brooding>slow. Or the public (horror genre) image of ritual = ceremony, inspired by Christian rite.
War and sacrifice had its ritual elements, and ritual could involve (combat) sport or dance (war dance, sword dance). When I say ritual, I conceive it in a pagan/tribal way.

Definitely not looking for industrial, I prefer the sound of PE, although if somebody knows anything of relevant industrial he can always recommend me something.

So rhythmic ? 'Danceable' ? From your initial description based on imagination and sound i would say something like this : https://fieldwork.bandcamp.com/track/death-of-the-soil , but now no way.

Reptile Womb might be worth checking out. It might be too "musical" but you be the judge.

Cranial Blast

RxAxPxE is a good one to check out in regards to occult/ritualistic type of industrial noise.

Golden Purifier is incredible.

My own work.

Jokes aside, A LOT of the Fieldwork label output might fit this. Legion V.K. and Goldenpurifier come to mind.

To me, something ritualistic is more about repetition. I mean, in both Eastern traditions and Western occultism, magic words and mantras are repeated continuously to induce a trance state in the practitioner.

From this point of view, I'd say that HNW could be considered ritualistic in a way.

Reading this thread also reminded me of another project I used to listen to quite often: Fanaticism.
It's obviously not pure P/E — some tapes lean more toward death industrial, others are a bit more ambient.

"Ecclesiastical Reich" could be a good starting point if you feel like exploring.

Seconded! The initial(?) 9 tapes were all great atmospheric death industrial. Very rarely getting (close) to the power electronics realm but definitely a series of releases to check out by anyone into death industrial.

Totally seconded! Can't believe I didn't remember to bring it up.

Was going to say Golden Purifier is indeed top tier. Any stuff like it is appreciated, and even rougher!

RxAxPxE was also enjoyable, remember them from a collaboration with Ride for Revenge. Bringing up black metal; I guess my vision is something like Ildjarn, but entirely PE, no black metal in there?

Ildjarn does incorporate ambient tracks on the bm albums.  I think he also did fully ambient works?
