Forgiveness if this subject has been brought up, feel free to delete. Wanted to discuss a more narrowed down focus on a trend within industrial *usually* found among older material. That is, industrial / noisy oriented rhythmic stuff - as "industrial" and "techno industrial" are too broad of terms. Projects like Esplendor Geometrico; SPK's Information Overload album; TG's "What a Day". Some Crash Worship might fit into this description. Tuning Circuits comes to mind. Older Ah Cama-Sotz. Some Bourbonese Qualk as well.
What i don't mean is stuff like Death Grips (ugh), Techno Animal, Converter et al. I also don't merely mean more techno / commercial stuff with some abrasive elements. I don't mean NIN, FLA, newer Skinny Puppy et al.
What is some more recent stuff that touches on this vibe? Mentioned in another thread is that the ease of access to gear possibly causing a bit of saturation and banality in that much of the "industrial techno" today is far too polished or redundant - ie "Goth Club" industrial which I rarely get into at all, personally.
In the same respect that the only real metal that really resonates with me tends to be raw black metal -this is true as well when it comes to my interest in most "industrial" experimental stuff as well, though there are exceptions, of course.
In the same light it should be noted that the term "industrial" is obviously far too broad at this point, hence more defining terms narrowing it down, but in the style I'm getting at that's really the only descriptor I could think of besides "Rhythmic Noise".
Some more modern projects offhand that touch on this is Coagul from Spain (though the production is less "old school"), and the Mortal Fear tape on the Aesthetic House label (highly recommended if you're unfamiliar). Obviously use of older gear helps this. While getting into the more techno end of things I've been enjoying a small handful of artists on the Pinkman label that also bleed into this style also, though it's a case by case basis.
