"Deaf City Journal is the de facto Tribe Tapes Of America publication dedicated to international noise and industrial-adjacent artists at leisure – the focus is not strictly music but espousing the other interests and passions of those involved with such a niche movement. My desire for this is to be a showcase of artists I admire and make somewhat of a permanent archive of their work – interviews, essays, artwork, stories, photography, rants or what-have-you...

Immaculate:Grotesque "Daylight Perversion" CD

Highly-influential noise project from the peak years of Providence's scene and known for intense live performance. I:G releases appeared on labels such as Troniks, RRRecords, Monorail, and Hospital, though the majority were small-run cassettes on the artist's own Truculent Recordings imprint, this is where Daylight Perversion was first issued as an edition of nine copies in 2007. Tribe Tapes is pleased to introduce this album to a wider audience, presented in a new remaster by Kris Lapke.

Hex Minora "Idolatry: The Second Death 1992 - 1998" CD

Historic first-ever compilation of the extreme UK electronics trio directed by dominatrix / model Dannielle Black, along with Barry Fuller and Jason Whittaker they were active in the early 90s tape trading scene putting out their own releases through the BV Tapes imprint. Often bearing explicit artwork, label operations grinded to an abrupt halt when UK customs seized a shipment of fetish magazines from Paris which included a photographic feature on Danni. Fuller was threatened with prosecution over importing pornography, and the project only recorded for a few more years until an attempted move into early computer recording signalled the group's permanent demise.

PBK, City Of Worms, John Hudak, & Illusion Of Safety "Step Into The Step" CD

Originally released in 1990 on Harsh Reality Music, heavyweight collaboration / cassette culture meeting of minds featuring source material by PBK, City Of Worms (Jeph Jerman), and John Hudak mixed by Illusion Of Safety. Harsh electronics and early SK-1 sampler abuse, psych-industrial concrete at its finest. Newly remastered for compact disc by Grant Richardson

Shortness Of Breath "While No Blossoms..." C30 Cassette

Debut cassette of new duo, John Grimaldi (Hand & Knee, Detachment Programs label) and Scott Kindberg (Silver Moult, Begin Hostilities label) -- Harsh noise / found sound manipulation

Fistfuck Masonanie

Really looking forward to Deaf City! It's a thicky at 72 pages and 8.5x11. Also, that Shortness Of Breath tape sounds fantastic.
