Bob Marinelli / Facialmess / Outermost / Flutter / Government Alpha "Distorted Vision '98 - '00" 2xCDdefinitive compilation of split cassettes put out by marinelli's own distorted vision records circa '98 - '00, including material by japanoise stalwarts outermost, gov alpha, and facialmess as well as flutter, the grand rapids teenage primitiv-computer-destroyers of legend. marinelli has re-emerged in the past few years thanks to the efforts of one henry c. rial (during a surprise late-night phone call to bob's place of work) and his return to form cemented by outstanding works on hospital and fusty. the work showcased on this double-disc set is a crucial point of turn-of-the-century cassette culture (what remained of it at that point) and remains some of the best noise of its era.

-1348- (Jeff Surak) "Onion" C90 Cassette Reissueclassic "cassette culture" noise-collage from jeff surak circa 1985, still revered today for works on his zeromoon imprint and continued live efforts in dc and abroad. the audio here varies wildly between early tg-style industrial compositions, minimal synth / loop work a la deaf lions or croiners, and a brief, bizarrely ahead-of-its-time excursion into techno on the a-side which pre-dates bloody fist by ten or so years.
