Quote from: FreakAnimalFinland on Today at 09:28:48 AMGerogerigegege release that I would hope to be reissued is "Piss shower girlfriend" pic LP. I finally managed to get the vinyl and been listening that a lot. CD edition of this would be nice. Of course LP is good, but my perspective more like distributor who would hope to distribute stuff like this, hah..
Great album, something like a power electronics version of Gero's noisecore, maybe early Masonna too somewhat. I put on The 150 Murderous Passions for a little while recently and WB's side reminded me of Piss Shower Girlfriend (well, I should say PSG reminds me of 150 Murderous Passions Part Two). I wish we got more stuff like this from Juntaro. There is OK#1 (from OK Session) on the Too Much Rare Tracks bonus comp disc but that's just one track. Violence Onanie / Nothing to Hear is like a more extreme version of this sound.
A Piss Shower Girlfriend CDr exists but it was only given to people who bought the Uguisudani Apocalypse CD from Juntaro. I don't think I have seen anyone that has it, no one on Discogs, nothing on social media (I feel like I've seen one Japanese person who posted a photo but I'm not 100% sure). Must be rare, maybe another situation of Juntaro not sending things. What makes the CDr interesting is Juntaro saying that the audio is taken from the master and that apparently picture disc has sound problems. Well since he released it only as a mail order bonus CDr I guess the issue wasn't serious.
QuoteIt is curious how there is something almost magical in Gerogerigegege. This stuff, what it really has? distortion pedal? Screaming, feedback, some noise there. Something you would think there would be someone who can make something like that. Not meaning someone should copy this, but think about amount of "noisecore" out there and how Gerogerigegege classics and even this type of found unreleased session basically crushes vast majority.
To be fair I haven't listened to lots of noisecore bands but let's look at bands who have done splits with Gero. I'm going from memory and need to relisten to these releases so my opinion about them could change. Sometimes the recording quality is shit, and not in the same way as Gero. The playing is also different, more focused on bashing the instruments or with a metallic feel. Even a simple release like All You Need Is Audioshock with just that one rumbling bass guitar has a POWER to it that those recordings don't have - it's not an issue on the playing level. There certainly is an audience for an "empty" sound like this but it's not my thing. Gero feels more like a punk band, noise band. Everyone knows about the Ramones influence, but it obviously goes beyond just the count-in. According to Juntaro he was inspired by a Ramones show he went to at Seibu Theatre in 1980 - apparently acoustics of the venue were poor and all that could be heard was noise. Even noisecore projects I like (which have "power") don't have the Gero sound. There's also the humor we all know and love (I'm sure some of it is also lost as certain track titles are in Japanese, also the aforementioned All You Need Is Audioshock is actually a more "serious" record).

No problem. Hmmm, this is in Chinese and reads like a press release. Maybe a Chinese label wanted to release this? We'll probably never know. A reissue of this would be great but as I said before Iwata isn't with us anymore sadly - although there was Stratosphere Sound -Last Tracks- released years after he passed away - and Juntaro is a specific person. Does anyone know what's up with Tomo Kuwahara?
PS: The chinese text and the PSF mentions reminded me of UFO CREAtions, maybe they would be a great label to release such a thing if a miracle happened and anyone from Iwata's surrounding wanted to put it out right now.
