You'll get 5 to 10 times more money from me than you will on Discogs.

So Butcher will give me $745-1499?  Good to know next time i'm down and out.

For a couple of the titles i'm missing I can offer 10 times less money than this guy. But i guarantee they will be actually listened to, by a not so rich ears.

If you're that impatient and willing to spend i suggest contacting the man himself. If he would see the dollar signs i'm sure he'd sell it to you.

I talk to Patrick all the time.  He doesn't collect his own work.

This is the only in-depth review of the 20CD Box Set that I can find, and James did a superb job imho:

His review for King of the Deathmatch is pretty spot on; perfect noise experience.  That's about as far as I have reached in the box so far.  Winter season hasn't necessitated a Skin Crime time as of late.  Maybe now that I'm reading this though.......

I got a copy from Pat directly and yeah, he said he's working on getting them up on Discogs.

It's a fantastic tape though, very in line with the "House On the Cliff" and "Ghosts I Have Been". Slooooowly creeping sounds that never quite reach the intensity of older Skin Crime material. What he gives up in sheer harshness though, he makes up for with eerie programmaticism and a beautiful clarity of the layerings and sounds involved. If you like either of those previous releases this one will really really impress you, I think.

Yeah, I'm very impressed with my Ghosts I Have Been sampling today.

(The CD shall reach my home soonish!) 😂

I'm happy when Artists don't try to recreate their youth. What speaks to you now? Great Artists continue to make compelling work when they are "honest" - if that makes sense.

I have the 20CD, which I want to redo soon (3rd time). But today's sampling has me thinking "the journey continues" vice "fuck I have enough already".

Ghosts I Have Been CD is playing while I type this. It has been a favorite over the last few years. Nice dark atmospheres.

Ghosts I Have Been was my introduction to the project, in tandem with Traveler on the Road.  For as great as early Skin Crime is, the deep and dark later era will always have a special place in my heart.

Excellent. It shall be mine soon.

Meanwhile, as linked further above, some of us at S+W had an idea to go through the 20CD on the 10th anniversary, according to this schedule:

Mon Mar 16 - 1.
Tue Mar 17 - 2. (Happy 10th Anniversary!!!)
Wed Mar 18 - 3.
Thu Mar 19 - 4.
Fri Mar 20 - 5.
Mon Mar 23 - 6.
Tue Mar 24 - 7.
Wed Mar 25 - 8.
Thu Mar 26 - 9.
Fri Mar 27 - 10.
Mon Mar 30 - 11.
Tue Mar 31 - 12.
Wed Apr 01 - 13.
Thu Apr 02 - 14.
Fri Apr 03 - 15.
Mon Apr 06 - 16.
Tue Apr 07 - 17.
Wed Apr 08 - 18.
Thu Apr 09 - 19.
Fri Apr 10 - 20.

I might swing it. This will be my 3rd time going through the box.

But I'm also juggling a Sissython and a Dufourathon, presently.

(I'm dyin' here!) 😂

Ghosts I Have Been plays as I type, and I really cannot add much to the comments further up.

Fuckin' perfect for Halloween, innit?

I believe that this was the first release post-20CD box? It certainly is different to anything I heard in the box. But I remember many CDs there that very patiently, carefully built mood, tension, ...volume!

(Speaking of the box, I got derailed from the schedule above, but The Mysterious Creep is doing a fantastic job over at S+W, adding to James Thompson's legacy.)

So then I looked up further Skin Crime releasings since this 2018 work. A theme has developed? (Tales From The Crypt, A Soul Eaten By Darkness, etc). Tapes are fun for some, but Give Me CDs...

(Tales is actually 97/98, it turns out.)

Anyway...Ghosts really surprised me, even after reading the previous comments beforehand. It never gets to a harsh/crazy place. But it compels, in it's...er...haunting ambiance. I'm impressed and happy.

The kiddies are gonna love this on Oct 31st. (Sorry, Prurient.)
