One of the cleaners at work mentioned how her kids had been invited to settle a dispute on the JK show. One colleague (he's a bleeding heart lefty) pleaded with her to stop them from doing it. He tried to explain that it's a freak show and that people only watch it to laugh at the idiots who are on there but to no avail. She was proud that her children were on TV.

It just sucks. LOL.
It's a small seaside town with a long promenade and hundreds of arcades, bingos, ecc. at peak times hundreds of people walks up and down the street like zombies showing their flaccid bodies, prison tattoos, getting wasted in the middle of the morning.

hundreds of retired people.

it is the place where everybody goes because of the beach, but the sea is dirty, trash everywhere, human garbage, ecc.

chav summer resort.

and it is just depressing ad it stinks.

there are really nice places on the coast in that area (I love Dunwich), but Felistowe is just awful.

At least the poms are keeping their accents. Down here you'd think you were in the US. Or at least trapped in Frank Zappa's "Valley Girl". If I had money every time I heard "I was like" or "oh my god" I'd own the planet.

just to mention to any h p hovercraft fans uk Dunwich has nothing to do with his fiction
likely it is stranger
and not to forget the 'carry on' contribution to uk seasides, 'carry on girls', a nadir of comedy that had no zenith in the first place

Jam is great and Nighty Night didn't get the exposure it deserved. Julia Davies did a brilliant pilot called Lizzie and Sarah (it wasn't puicked up as it was too dark for TV apparently) which is worth tracking down

I love Green Wing and IT crowd too.

Does Father Ted count as English? I mean, it's funnier than death but does it count?

I put "Yes Minister" and "Yes Prime Minister" among the top of the heap. Some platinum moments from that. "The New Statesman" was good for the first series or so. I used to have a dvd of "In The Thick Of It" that I recall was quite good, although not gut-busting as such. But yea, "Yes Prime/Minister" is essential UK funny.

Bottom fucking ruled at first, but some of those live show tours - well, I only tasted them from YouTube but still...

EDIT - Actually, on that note, what about The Dangerous Brothers? Pretty dangerous stuff as I'm sure you'll agree.
