This caught my eye today...
QuoteEmeralds are an ambient/drone music trio from Cleveland, Ohio. ... In the coming years Emeralds releases will appear on Editions Mego and Industrial Records.
This appears to be the first mention of a non-TG release on Industrial in this century.  Emeralds opened for TG on the last US tour, so there is some connection.

It's kind of funny that most people who listen to Emeralds probably don't consider them an "industrial" band, and most people who describe their music taste as "industrial" listen to things very different from Emeralds.  I've also noticed that Chris and Cosey recently described Excepter as "industrial," which is a definite shift from their stance in the '80s when nobody was doing "true" industrial according to them.  If Industrial Records makes a comeback as a collection of various bands, will it change the definition of the genre?

it seems like they learned a valuable lesson on that tour..... that emeralds records are guaranteed to sell.

Didn't find much other information on this. Nothing on the Industrial Records site itself - (http://www.industrial-records.com/). Some other label calling itself Industrial Records, then?

That link, by the way, was dated June 10, 2010; could have sworn we are still in April at the moment. Although that little bit of information is also on the Emeralds page on Wikipedia too. Interesting.

It seem to me, anyway, that even if Industrial Records resurrected itself and began doing albums of current projects, it would make little difference. It's actual, influential relevance was years ago. IR would be just another label just as Throbbing Gristle, today, is just another band.

It's the website of an upcoming festival, June 10 in when Emeralds will play.

Last night I spoke to John Elliott (Emeralds keyboardist) about this.  Yes, it is true that they are planning to release something on Industrial Records, but they still have to record it, and it won't be out for another year or two.  He also mentioned something about a collaborative release involving Emeralds and Chris Carter.  The promoter of tonight's show in Toronto has been posting about them, "New record out on THrobbing Gristle's Industrial Records for this tour," but according to John there was never any truth to this and the Toronto promoter is just being weird.  Okay...
