Searing and psychotic, droning and disturbed power electronics from long-running Texas project Inhalant. Themes of control and obsession are explored via maniacal vocalizations drowning in a sea of churning, bordering on psychedelic, noise. "bondage" is Inhalant's first vinyl full-length after years of tape releases and compilation appearances on such stalwart labels as RRRecords, Pitchphase, and Chondritic Sound.

The samples are pretty good. "Let Down" was a good one, the rest are a bit to small in their movements for my personal taste (which doesn't mean much). The cover art could have been better. This subject matter has been covered so much that it feels like you really have to go all out, be really explicit in your aim and the material should be very imaginative and original for it to really work.

Wreck, thanks for listening and for your comments, it's appreciated. This obviously goes without mentioning, but the samples are just that - meant to give a flavor of the material, and perhaps not best indicative of the power of these tracks when unfurled in full. That being said, this is a sound that is difficult to pin down, a hybrid of harsh, drone and PE. It is being presented as primarily a power electronics record due to the presence of vocals (lyrics on the back sleeve) on each track. It is granted that, thematically, this LP is breaking no new ground at all. Just look at the title. The artwork is that of the artist and ably suits the mood and sounds contained within. What we have here is simply an overwhelmingly dark and unpretentious record filled with hidden subtleties that reveal themselves upon repeated listens. Those looking for a plethora of dynamics or sound innovation are best to look elsewhere.
