Saturday July 13th from 8 PM, Gullivers on Oldham Street - upstairs room in one of the few remaining old fashioned dive bars in city centre Manchester where you can buy strong beer for under three quid.

S&Q present a live rendition of 'Spaceshit' with a return to the stage for its co-composer Holly Hero, last seen gyrating in underwear inside a transparent potato sack on European stages in the 90s.

Entry fee: Not sure, under a fiver I imagine. Also on bill: rare show by junk-metal-destruction collective BARBARIANS. "Barbarians are a six-piece improvised noise act from Manchester The infamous bunch are well known for harsh, abrasive and self-torturous live shows using found objects/sound, power electronics and screams/groans-often resulting in crowd participation and self-mutilation. The legendary live shows include ceiling puncturing, demolishing indoor walls, cream cakes in unsuspecting audience's faces, seas of glass, broken bones and stiches." (found online blurb)

Nice, might come along to this. Only first heard Spaceshit quite recently due to the reissue and it's definitely a very unique piece of work.

This Saturday and we still don't know exactly who will be in the Smell & Quim lineup on the night. Typical chaos. The herding of cats.

What an absolutely crazed evening. Review and photos at http://idwalfisher.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/smell-quim-gullivers-manchester-13th.html

The 'hymns' mentioned were from the Ray Conniff Singers 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas' LP and the 'swaying' was digging motions - especially for Manchester, linked with the LP played if people know their true crime history.

Huge thanks to all the other excellent bands, to the very tolerant and good-humoured venue management and especially to heroic promoter Dazz.

RIP the fireman who died on the same street that night.
