Was just reading this article about the most expensive hardcore records:
http://www.swedishpunkfanzines.com/?page_id=386

Would be nice to see a similar list of noise and/or PE records.. Anybody?

One way of finding this out is to look on the list section on Discogs. They normally have list related to the most expensive items bought that month. There are usually some PE/Industrial artists on the lists. Ramleh Awake! tape box sells for loads, Sutcliffe Jugend - We spit on your graves - original tape set, not bootleg, went for about $1500 on Discogs. That will take a lot to beat. I imagine the Con-Dom special edition set of 7"s will sell for a lot. Also Genocide Organ releases sell for crazy amounts. Prurient releases can also sell for a lot but I think I think it will be artists from the 80s that are selling for the highest prices.

That heart shaped Gerogerigegege 7"? Changez Les Blockeurs?

I think the Craziest Price Hits are over in P:e, Noise and Related. There where much more insane in the Past for Original Whitehouse Lps, 7" or Tapes. But nowadays the prices have lowered a Lot. Same goes for Genocide Organ, Who would pay $1.500 for a Klan Kountry nowadays?

Scat-O-Logy

Apparently the remaining Whitehouse albums will be reissued on colored vinyl somewhere around next year. William said (not to me directly) that they will go to print as soon as the new Cut Hands album is released. Stocked for these news!!!

Bought my copy of Right To Kill for 90 euros about 10 years ago, now there's 1 for sale on Discogs for 227. I remember Klan Kountry was always very expensive so i never bought it but now i see a near mint copy on Discogs for 69...

related, but Les Joyaux De La Princesse – Exposition Internationale - Arts Et Techniques - Paris 1937 sold for $1,400 on discogs.

SPK - Mekano 7" sold for $1145 on ebay ... Genocide Organ - Klan Kountry 7" for $1222

Don't know of anything higher than the SJ - WSOTG 10CS though

White Hospital's Holocaust usually goes for pretty insane prices.

Does it? According to discogs I see only one sold there, for 49 euro. I know it has been ASKED a lot, but always same seller listing it for +-1 euro price changes because nobody was paying prices that was asked for.
This is common thing distorting prices. I could list almost everything what I own, and sell if I get 10x more than it's really worth. I think especially Discogs is full of such sellers. They don't want to sell, but if someone is crazy enough to pay, then why not?
If people have also "make offer" function, I have heard that someone listing item for 200 and getting offer for 50,- has sold it instantly. So maybe not all the stuff listed at high prices actually sold for that exact sum.

It's very hard to consider price of vinyl based on such circumstances. They may be most expensive once or twice, yet there are some stuff what may always remains more wanted than there are copies in circulation.

For me personally, I have paid around 200,- for handful of items that I really wanted. I guess not more than 5 items. All remaining rarity purchases I've made are 50 euro or less.

i recall a crazy norvegian guy outbid me on a ebay auction for the first Monde Bruits tape which went to him for 160 euros, which is insane for a tape. Another stuff which come instantly to mind is the Pain Jerk acetate 7" limited to 2 copies which sold for 500$

That's absolutely true; I hadn't checked the sales history but indeed it only shows the single 49 euro sale. Indeed it hasn't (recently) been offered for anything but an insane price (I think it's always about 500) but perhaps one could purchase it quite a lot cheaper. Mind though, I have had it in my wantlist for years and I've only ever seen the ridiculously expensive copy come by. Granted, I don't check eBay regularly enough and all, but it still seems to be very hard to get a hold of.

how long ago did that copy of 'holocaust' sell for just 49 euro?! it is a really rare record (guess we can assume most never left japan?) and i've not seen it for sale enough to know of a true going-rate, but for certain, that's an absolute bargain price. i only saw it sell on ebay twice in early-mid 2000s and if i recall rightly they went for around $250-300, then i didn't see another copy for sale ever until i saw that austrian guy was trying for 'buy it now' 450 euros or whatever it was on ebay/discogs and i thought i'd go eitherway - sell straight away to someone who'd been after it for ages and had the money, or they'd never sell it for that price for a long time, if ever, and it clearly was the latter.

as these haven't yet been mentioned as three figure sum records i'll see it as my duty (!) to do so :
the hanatarashi 'the hanatarashi' LP
hanatarashi '2' LP
the gerogerigegege 'senzuri champion' LP (and 'showa' LP to a lesser extent, but can still go for three figures)

although i myself paid out big enough for 'the hanatarashi' and 'senzuri champion', i was lucky enough to get '2' and 'showa' for bargain prices similar and even cheaper to that 'holocaust' above, both bought privately (private auction and online 2nd hand record shop). some bonzas can still turn up cheap somewhere now and again, you just gotta be lucky, for instance i know of someone who snagged an original TNB 'changez' lp for GBP 60 at ultima thule mailorder in uk (they usually do more krautrock/psych sorta stuff) a few years ago, a copy of 'right to kill' sold for GBP 40 in listings in back of record collector mag, etc. incidentally, 90 euros for 'right to kill' 10 years ago was a great price.

bit of a morbid thought, but someone i know in newcastle has apparently left their orig TNB 'changez' for me in their will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i've only ever seen that one copy sell of the gero 'live at tokyo gay center' heart shaped 7" - the one that's logged on popsike. i see there's a couple of 'al jin' flexis that went for three figures too. one sleeveless still got GBP 200+. i'd have pretty much killed for them at one point!

it's probably safe to say all hanatarashi condome cassex tapes could get three figures too. again, it's safe to assume most are in japan, or if outside, with collectors who aren't gonna sell! i've never owned any of them! there was so many in a short space of time at beginning of existence too (by the way, not all early hanatarashi tapes were compiled on the 'we are hardcore!' set).

i agree the price may have fallen out of some items, but most people aren't spending as much on anything at the moment are they!

agreed on both.

Jaakko V.

So besides FA what would be the highest price the members of this forum have paid for single albums themselves?

How general is it for us to pay, say, 150 eur for a 12" ?

I don't think I ever paid more than 60 eur and even that is just for a few items. Would be nice to maybe have a separate poll or something for this, to get an easy visual of the overall situation.
