Some years ago, i had a discussion with a friend of mine about Aaron Dilloway and how tremendously good are his solo material and how he done the right thing to leave from Wolf Eyes and succeed at evolving himself sonically.

Aaron through tape manipulation, synths, feedback, tape effects etc. become one of my favourite american noisicians of 00's. I follow his works as possible as i can and he never stops getting my attention of how he will manage his palette of sounds, as he do in different ways every time in every album.

Favourite albums:

Modern Chester (LP/CD version)
Chain Shot (CD version)

Mikerdeath

His recent live performances in SF were fantastic, they are up on youtube if interested.

Recently found the Tractor Cuts Tape on Robert & Leopold, still listening frequently.
8-track loops of field recordings of his grandfather's tractor. Well planned isolated and layered machine sounds.

Have to give Modern Jester a few more spins, liked what i heard but wasn't blown away like i expected..

ddmurph

my favourites are probably

modern jester (lp, haven't heard the cassette version)
infinite lucifer
the rope and the dogs
chain shot

also, the three times i've seen him live all count in the top shows i've ever experienced

dmkerr

Listening to Modern Jester now.  Even after all the harsh noise listening, I find I still have a healthy respect for dynamics and heavy punctuations.

Bad Dreams CD remains my favorite Dilloway full length...

The day show was sharp.  Never cared for rocking chairs, though.

I definitely have my favourites but he's hard to go wrong with. Corpse On Horseback and Lip Syncing to Verme are the ones I play the most often. The more rotten and decayed works are the ones I naturally prefer.

holy ghost

He described Corpse on Horseback as "ambient"

Class act, for sure. I haven't had a chance to play Modern Jester enough, as I just recently picked it up, but I like what I hear...

Since i got the Beauty Bath lp some months ago, i've kinda rediscovered Dilloways work again. So much to go through, and so many pleasant surprises. Glad to see he's touring Europe soon.

Cheers for the bump and video links!

Brilliant artist. A couple of things I've listened to lately are his collaborations with Jeph Jerman (Casual Collisions) and John Wiese (Sniper Counter Sniper). Both are enjoyable and in both you get two different artists and different styles and approaches working seamlessly together.

I listened to Medicine Stunts today and saw this thread. Gotta say that it is one of the best by him.
