This subject have been up on a number of occasions before but since I'm old and can't remember names I would greatly appreciated recommendations of new groups that takes it to a new level. Although I love all the old Broken Flag, Club Moral, Selbstmord Org (maybe not all) bands I think there have be to much focus on old bands and releases in recent years.
And if you could motivate your recommendation it would be even greater!

Two bands that have perked my interest recently just be reading about on boards are Soft Option Killing (anyone got the tapes for sale?) and Iron Fist of the Sun. I've been focusing on the Swedish scene the last couple of years and that have kept me busy but now I really would like to get my hands on some new stuff. Are the anyone that works in the same vein as IRM by the way?

updated today on FA mailorderlist:

*BUDRUS "devyniems rytams austant" cd (12.00,-) NEW
Imagine modern day IRM, but even more organic sounding with aggressive lithuanian vocal on top, amazing blend of organic drone and power electronics. Recommended!!! Digipak

Not exactly power electronics in stereotypical way, but it's hard to say what it exactly is. Instead of brutal fuzz and synth rumble, the sound is very organic one. But composition, overall atmopshere, how vocals are there... You simply can't file this to "drone", "experimental acoustic music" or whatever.

Thanks for the tip Mikko!

I listen to their myspace and it sounded really good so now you have an order... Somehow they also reminded me of Swans. Always a huge influence on Martin Bladh of IRM so in a way it all make sense.

I think the member of the project is already here on the list. Also contributor in SI #1.

I personally value very very very highly SNUFF LP. Of course, there's nothing "new" there. Same old guys responsible who have spawned some of the best Finnish noise, I guess its secret who are in project, but anyone who buys stuff of certain labels hears it immediately. But new project anyways.

MOLESTER from Japan is improving on every release. I think some of the Lust Vessel related projects are very enjoyable.

It's hard to recommend stuff to jaded veterans. When you mention some name, they might say, fuck that, SJ/Ramleh did it better. Or whatever. Anyways, for people who'd want to hear something violent and dirty PE, perhaps worth to check out later works of LIVER MORTIS. Not only being probably first black man doing PE (?), but also that he actually crushes most of the newer projects 10-0. Tape on EST would be first thing I would recommend. And then proceed chronologically to older. Oldest stuff is pretty wanky synth noise improv. so that should be last thing to get.

For more modern stuff, a'la Control or such, I think Iconoclasm from Japan (ex- Montage) is promising. We know how many japanese projects are. Not exactly on same level on non-musical substance (or it doesn't transfer to our brain due language barrier), but technological post-industrial noise/pe, for tape maniacs, very good purchase. Mastered by mr. Keränen!

And fuck me if I forget to say this: SEKTOR 304 !
Talking of Swans and all that stuff, it definitely NOT a PE project, but for industrial music, this is something I welcome into scene anytime. CD on Malignant.

I guess most stuff I mentioned, can be found on Freak Animal distro too.

Vocalist`s of BUDRUS solo project:
POGROM"Liberal cunt" tape out on Filth&Violence Jan/Feb 2010.
dirty PE, live in studio, piercing feedback, putrid loops. When first track hits its like Lithuanian GRUNT but enough identity of its own. Raw & simple.

manic/depression"First blood" debut tape also from F&V early 2010. Lots of layers. filthy industrial mayhem. Strong vocal delivery w/variety in sound. Massive. Harsh electronics.field recordings. Impressive debut.

COMA DETOX. Raw USA PE. Kind of MANIA feeling. One tape out on his own label.

GOLDEN RAIN more Finnish fresh blood. Sleazy power electronics. slow motion. quite unusual flegmatic vocals. "Praise the Whore" tape should be still available from Molehill.

CONCRETE MASCARA From land of milk and honey. Nothing out yet(?) Keep the name in mind. feedback, cut up,loops,vocals.. quite unigue style. I have heard excellent tracks and some utter crap. I wish he would reject line-in recording method.

ABOVE SUSPICION from Åbo Another name to keep in mind, nothing out yet. Filthy junk bashing, loops,feedback,vox..the usual but done properly w/hate&lust.

Didn't Coma Detox just do 2nd tape? Don't have it, but was told by someone to make sure I get it.

FFH isn't really "new", but I'm quite sure the debut LP should kill when finally out.
Yellow Tears isn't really PE, but that "don't cry" 12" was great. More of sound collage what you could put on turntable after things like Contrastate. Just something else than super popular harsh noise.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Maybe I should make my position a bit clearer. I guess I'm at this point looking more for bands that are "not really pe" but have a similar approach. Contrastate is a band that did that. White did it live. Burdus seems to be doing the from the samples I heard. IRM is doing it and going from strength to strength.
I haven't heard Yellow Tears but I'm checking them out.

FreakAnimalFinland

I have recollection that Pissmop LP wasn't yet as good. Don't Cry is 12" (45rpm). It was pressed only 200, so could be slightly difficult title, but luckily I think project is still pretty unknown and not very "collectable" yet. So should be fair price. My only complaint would be that pressing is not totally top quality. Surprisingly lot of surface noise, snap crackle & pop is even with 45rpm mLP.

I guess this topic could be good in use of recommending good new PE & industrial noise and related. Just good, or exceptional & creative too. And as usual, I hope listing would be focused what is really good, and what you listen to, and not who are your buddies.

I think from the ones already mentioned, I can underline: IRON FIST OF THE SUN. Not that CD would be 100% flawless milestone, but that band manages to sound totally original. His way of using synth, is strange. It's not the typical rumble & helicopter noise, but these quite unique slower patterns. And vocal sound is kind of extra sharp and with effects that at the same time heavily modify vocal sound, but leaves vocals perfectly audible and doesn't make it blurry or remove aggression. CD on cold spring = recommended!

Ah, I just read that "new groups" + "new level".

There is this Finnish thing called GRUNT, which is not new, but I may recommend to check out new album if you want to hear "new approach". Money back guarantee if you can point out other album that is similar.

I will release Coma Detox 2nd tape asap. Tapeline is working but I'm not so sure to release it this year. Most probably available in january with new works of Halthan and An Innocent Young Throat-Cutter

Well I named the topic New PE groups so I guess I'm to blame. Why don't you put the new Grunt CD in the package also?

Aye! One of my favorite cassettes of the year and one of the few things lately that honestly got Heavy Rotation....along with Sektor 304. Not PE, by any means, but mandatory industrial listening.

Glad to see that not everything new is about "crude, filthy, brutal, back to basics" etc. The genre needs it prog rockers too. Anyway of getting in touch with the band? Who released it?
