I am moving to Cologne from the United States in about 3 weeks and wondering what kind of "noise scene" or active projects there are currently in Germany. I'd like to connect with like minded individuals and potentially play shows, but I don't hear much about a thriving German noise scene, or even much of one in the past. I'm aware of the heavy hitter power electronics/industrial bands like GO etc., who seem to be fairly active, but I'm interested more in the realm of harsh noise/experimental stuff. Please, post anything that comes to mind, even if it doesn't necessarily apply 100%. And if you're a German reading this, please get in touch via pm! That goes the same for anyone else in Europe in general. I need to expand my contacts and make new colleagues.

Feel free to make this a discussion about german noise in general, not necessarily just as it applies to me.

Not sure, what you think about a Noise Scene, but still active are:

Drone Records; Troum & Friends
Die Stadt & Friends
Feine Trinkers bei Pinkels Daheim
Golden Shop

They make Concerts and Partys from Time to Time.
The Entartet in Hamburg is on Ice, as far as i know. Same goes for the Stuff in Rostock. But not sure, of course.

Maybe you should ask some Label/Musicians directly:

Licht-ung
Industrial Culture

There are some People around Osnabrück, Oldenburg, Hamburg ect. but i'm not too interested in People, so is the Only Infos i can give. Easiest Way is to visit the Concerts. Even if G.O is playing, the Audience will be not only be Power Electronics Freaks ;)

Thanks for the names so far, keep 'em coming. I'm familiar with a couple, but I'll look into the rest. I'm hoping to attend the Tower Transmissions festival at the end of September, which should be a good introduction.
