In the summer of 2014 John Several knew he was dying and set out to complete some final Tactile recordings. During that August, the last full month of his life, he recorded Deep Immersion Electronics (D.I.E.) - intensely transformative and pure tones channelled from analog synthesisers for meditational listening. Of the five previous Tactile full-lengths released during his life this perhaps most resembles in its sonic palette Borderlands (1999) which was recently reissued posthumously as a double LP on white vinyl. Borderlands was inspired by the then recent death of John's mother. D.I.E. was inspired by the awareness of his own inevitable impending death. Issued one year after he left this planet by his executors at the Sentrax Corporation as a matching double LP on white vinyl, with beautiful cover art from Pete Greening and superb mastering from Gregg Janman at Hermetech as per John's last requests. Consider your own mortality and the mysteries of existence to these exquisite electronic compositions with otherwordly undercurrents by an acknowledged master of the genre and a genuinely legendary figure in the UK's underground.
To be released exactly one year after John's death on 26/09/15, available for preorder now at
