Soon to be released Sick Seed album is killer. It was pressed already months ago and got copy early on and been listening to it several times, but waiting for announcement to happen.

It is at the same time logical addition to previous albums, but also pushes into slightly new sounds. Especially vocals, that are kind of traditional SS vocal assault, but production is notch different. In a good way!

For fans of Prison Songs and Powerplay that came out decade ago, this new one will be perfect addition.

New Satatuhatta batch offering again good Finn noise! Corral Shut 3" is good example how stutter loops can work, when the overall sound is nasty. Like Bizarre Uproar 20 years ago, stutter loop assaults were kind of dirty and not "mathematical" like with clean digital creations. Corral Shut is rusty, nasty, of course no way similar to BU. Just using that as example that stutter loops can be nasty and piercing and not annoying and sound "THE SAME".

Campsite Love is Jazzhand and Haudat/Monocyclocybercilia. Reel-to-reel rugged sound processing and eerie "ambient" soundscapes. I actually like the latter ones the most. Somehow oddly vibrating tones. Like vibrato keyboard tones of some sort. Maybe manipulated tapes? Although, was listening to this while falling asleep, so there was transitions of awareness and pure sleep and not everything yet ingested 100%!

Noise discussion with Mr. Aprapat / Satatuhatta published in an academic research journal:

Oh! Excellent!
There is funny "rock isn't kivimusiikkia" moment!

There are bunch of academic studies related to noise in Finland. This piece is behind the paywall or something, meant for the "academic audience only", but I guess abstract + footnotes already gives you some indication what's up. There is cross cultural study, how rebel rock & power electronics is possible to exist in same milieua.. kind of.

I generally say no thanks to any academic research and non-genre-insider documentation, but mr. Kotonen is exceptional character in otherwise depressively sad reality of guys working on same field as he is.

Looks like a great read judging by the footnotes. Shame about the paywall.

One note would be, that text includes some replies to his questions, but it is his analysis and conclusions, that I did object back then. Already 5+ years ago, so can't remember. But something about notions of contradiction between content of noise and rock. Which can be true, if you intentionally to choose and put emphasis on very specific elements of genre and expecting projects are tied to those values. One could also look it from unconventional perspective, like focus on the art in question, and notice that there is no contradiction whatsoever. So, while analysis is ok, in many accasions, it is his view, not mine.

Talking about Finn noise, seems like long delayed Rotat CD on Dunkelheit is out!

Not sure did many people miss, but Abysse Des Ames did 2nd tape that was published for Viimaa ja Villasukkia event!

Perhaps foreigners may have not noticed by Vanhala was first time on stage since covid, I think? New duo project, no releases. Not NOISE per se, but elements of noise.

Mentioned in other topics, at least in finn topic, there was WOM, Moozzhead, Invagination live in Lahti and WOM set wasn't properly captured on video, but Moozzhead and Invagination full sets online. Can be found on Freak Animal youtube channel.
