My memories of
THU20 is mostly about their later works. In 90's their sound started to shift towards more electro-acoustic stuff. Now, going through this brilliant double cd anthology
THU20 "Vroeg Werk" 2xCD (Monochrome), I was just blown away how great it all is!!
It's about 2,5 hours, collecting tracks from 80's tapes, great sounding live recordings and lots of unreleased pieces. Giving few examples what could be found at youtube:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY3A6zIWrIUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjdCqBQRM8Ahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYByiwP4IGMCuriously not that much of old material seems to be there. Also quick look into discogs, and unless you're ready to forward 45,- for some old tape, ain't much there to buy. Therefore this double CD is essential purchase. Their later days electro-acoustic stuff ain't bad. They're still active.
Older material is far more intro traditions of industrial. Loops, somewhat clear structures for songs. Not just long free flowing experimentation. There is some of that too, but blown up late 80's tape sound makes it vastly different from the later "micro-sound" electro-acoustics.
Many tracks on this compilation makes me think that it's pretty close to what bands like SICK SEED is doing, although THU20 did it 30 years before. Of course it is not identical, but lets say, when I was listening same day SICK SEED's new "Failed Rituals" 3", and later this double CD, I was almost shocked how much similarity there was! And not to mention, that as great as some of the old industrial/noise items from Holland are, it doesn't seem to have much interest in Finland - at least!
When thinking for example what types of box sets VOD put out, if you've bought UNKOMMUNITI, Broken Flag, Boyd Rice, SPK, Alien Brains, B.Qualk, etc etc.. THU20 old stuff double CD is probably 100% to your liking, but also not that big investment!
If one is interested what they do 30 years later, one can check for example link below. THU20 seems to be most of all live-group, and most of their stuff seems live recordings.

DMDN is one I must have praised many times before. For reason or another, it doesn't have the recognition I think it deserves! Old works from 80's kills, but he is still doing stuff what is worth attention even if some of it too much of DJ oriented nowadays.
