recently revisited a few Body Collector tapes, now about 10 years old, i received from khris back when we were in frequent contact at shows. at the time i thought of the style as typical 'michigan noise' what was coming out around then, which to me seemed like a lot of guys trying to do stuff similar to dilloway yet not standing out. however now, tapes like 'acidic healer', 'assaulted ground', 'meth viper' have a new appeal to me. the minimal approach of uneffected metal, crude tape loops, decrepit field recordings, reminds of what is usually heard more recently out of sweden, but with a grimey bluntness of rust belt america.

somehow i only have a half dozen or so of his personal works, but enjoying them all lately and wondering what are some other peoples favorite body collector / scorpio & glass recordings? anyone know if he is still active in any capacity? current contact?

Theodore

I think he has this label -variety of styles released there- , active : https://www.discogs.com/label/287071-Nostilevo . There is an email and several other links on Discogs page.

correct! i had forgotten he had continued under that label name after ending nurse etiquette, thanks.

THE RITA HN

Khris / Body Collector was definitely a solid participant in the cracking crumbling HN 'reassessment' during the years right before 2010.
Amazing live as well. Great sense of drama and space with pure spacious textural sound and vicious HN.
Comparable to something like Hum of the Druid.

This thread has me revisiting the BODY COLLECTOR / TASKMASTER - Gun Metal Black CS (Nurse Etiquette) after some years.

BC side starts off with an instant assault of red-lined crumble and delves into varying sounds (and vocals? or highly processed sample?) with great success, but always returning that red-lined crumble. As the second track beings we are given an extended period of metal maltreatment that while not being entirely sparse is never a full-on barrage, until we are treated to an even thicker, maxed-out crackling crumble that at time gives way to similar sounds heard at the beginning of the tape (and again, vocals? or more junk abuse?), before returning to booming junk abuse with occasional feedback. The pedals are cut for the last minutes and we are left with largely untreated metal clashing. It's a lengthy side, but it leaves its mark and the general sound of the tape is very pleasing. Thick and heavy.

Nurse Etiquette label immediately brings to mind some great releases by straight up bands like Ride At Dawn and the first Slaughter Strike tape.
