New releases from
Found Remains!Found Remains presents three new releases from the best in American noise and beyond.
C.L. Lobbestael's Particle DissolutionDetroit's Cody Lobbestael continues to drift listeners along an eternal path of emotive ambience with
Particle Dissolution. The project has only seen limited-edition import releases in the past making this Lobbestael's first widely-available domestic release. Particle Dissolution travels through several layers of atmospheric synth work, transcending time, space, and hues of light, all while remaining based around a recurring theme that guides the journey. The memory still remains after gazing across the infinite plain.
Himukalt's Come OctoberHimukalt is the project of Ester Kärkkäinen based in Nevada. Although only releasing recorded output since 2016, Himukalt has delivered stringent and artfully-arranged works of industrial noise vitriol on such labels as No Rent, Malignant, and Angst. While creating a sound that often harkens back to the old guard of Broken Flag and Aquilifer Sodality, Kärkkäinen manages to write her own unique story with a modern approach, resulting in an album that leaves the listener in a dizzied, impure state of mind. On
Come October, Himukalt further blazes a path of eradication that is as personal as it is caustic. Automated machines rhythmically pound and grind flesh while voices of another spiritual realm invade the mind for a dual attack leading to total submission.
Kjostad's Environment ElectronicsIthaca, NY's Kjostad brings forth another panoramic display of nature woven with layers of carefully arranged static textures on
Environment Electronics. Kjostad is the moniker of Stefan Aune who is also responsible for the frantic harsh noise project Breaking The Will, in addition to running the prolific New Forces label. Where Breaking The Will ambushes the listener with guerilla noise tactics, Kjostad utilizes the same deft hand for a more organic tapestry of man-made and natural sonics. Capturing the sounds in locales such as rural Wyoming and Minnesota, Aune takes these moments and introduces layers of electronics and magnetic tape, not just blending the two but utilizing the strong qualities of both to achieve an even more impactful statement that expresses the ultimate power of pure sound. Humans will create civilizations only for them to be eventually consumed by sand and vines.
