Pe artists that explore the ideas of Faith?

Never managed to get hold of any Blackhouse, and if im honest they came off very bad when reading interviews with them.

Con-dom always perplexes me about his (or lack of ) faith.

Any pointers to other artists ( barzel/ koufar/ martyr im very well acquainted  with)?

Great topic. I've always found IRMs lyrics and themes to be most interesting.

Question is: faith or religiousness?

ironfistofthesun

there is plenty of anti-religion sentiment in pe..

but quest is for artists that are unashamed and celebrate their faith and of their religious heritage.

Stridulum

phagetapes

drone lebanon.   the split with wertham is worth checking out.

koufar is lebanese but that countries struggles are thick with faith based conflict.

im not sure of the other projects on topheth prophet but that label seems to do some religious based releases.

Mental destruction are extremely Christian.

Mental destruction are extremely Christian.

I also thought about them, although they´re not exactly pe.
By the way, sometimes I am a bit confused about their Christianity. For some reason it seems like "shock value" - or maybe it´s just me trying to accept the idea of enjoying a christian band, hehehe

Nyodene D

Koufar is Maronite Christian.

I'd reccommend the 1st Barzel CD, would love to hear the second.

Blackhouse seem super cheesy to me...

Oh have faith in me when I say they are sincere in their believes. Nothing about shock or anything like that. They played a big Christian festival in USA called the Cornerstone Festival put on by Jesus People USA.

If I remember correctly, the Durling brothers grew up in Ethiopia with their Christian missionary parents.

I've always found IRMs lyrics and themes to be most interesting.

I did an interview with Martin Bladh back in 2001. On the question whether or not he considered himself a religious person, here's his answer (translated from Swedish):

- I believe in molecules and atoms, not in heaven or hell. The metaphysical and religious can certainly be fascinating, but when I talk about crucifixion and martyrdom it is metaphores for personal fantasies, not any dogmatic prophecies about apocalypse.

Thanks for that. Makes it even more interesting now. Definitely clears things up, as I had read this article a long time ago which seems to reference a different article which says something different...: http://musicfortherestofus.blogspot.com/2007/06/irm-oedipus-dethroned.html

The article referenced by that blog is almost certainly this one, http://www.angelfire.com/goth/irm/interviews.html, which is just a load of fabricated bollocks. That entire IRM site is a mock-up by "friends" of the band.

Thanks for the info, that´s really interesting. The connection between christianity and noise / industrial / power electronics (and even metal / punk / whatever) always seems out of place for me, anyway.

Yes, it is and despite several attempts to have it removed it´s still there to our disatisfaction. The ones responsible (our "friends") for the site in the first place doesn´t seem to remember the login and password. And without them it´s unfortunately impossible to do anything about it.

With that said I´m asking all who might see this fake page. Please ignore everything that is on there. Don´t use quotes or any information, cause it has nothing to do with IRM and our "believes".
