Kjostad - Glacial LakeWe are happy to reissue Kjsotad's "Glacial Lake," which was originally issued as a tape on No Rent Records in 2018 and quickly sold out. This pro-CD is packaged in a 4-panel digipack and includes new artwork.
Original label description: After releases on New Forces, Found Remains and Prime Ruin, Kjostad gives us Glacial Lake, the project's best work to date. Ranging from contemplative to pummeling, these place-based recordings were composed with sounds captured in the woods of northern Minnesota along the shores of Kjostad lake. Primal atmospheres create a pedestal for blazoned electronics to be manipulated with colossal menace. This is real noise; containing the beauty of nature almost accidentally, while wearing terror on its sleeve. Micro-density, macro-density, moments thicken the plot while the whole moves stoically and circuitously. Glacial Lake is a refreshing Walden-esque vision of American noise.
Skin Graft - AggregationSkin Graft is one of the defining American noise artists, uniquely able to capture the decay and misery that blooms in the post-industrial wastelands of the United States. Frequently imitated but never matched, Wyatt Howland's bleak sonic approach was developed across a series of hard-to-find tapes and CDrs in the mid-2000's. "Aggregation" sets out to document Skin Graft's development, collecting 18 long-sold-out releases and presenting them on four 90-minute cassettes, packaged in a vinyl case with two inserts. Classic releases such as "Chernobyl," "Soft Police Murder," and "Nero Soul" receive long-awaited reissues, an excellent gateway into Skin Graft's blend of junk metal abuse, crude electronics, bleak field recordings, and angry static discharges. The perfect soundtrack for this sinking ship.
Includes: Chernobyl, Clinic, 8/7/10, Soft Police Murder, Alcohol, Cleveland Noise Compilation 2010, Corpse Abuse Split, Split with Greenlander, Crippling, Terminal Alcoholic, Beg, NTC, Untitled 2007, Balance/d, Nero Soul, 440 HZ On Horse Neck, Public Displays of Loathing and Disgust, and Crippling.
Serration - DeconflictionSerration is a Michigan-based duo that traffics in militant heavy electronics. Pulsing walls of industrial noise form a backdrop for menacing vocal assaults over the course of five tracks. This is the soundtrack for the pervasive global violence of the 21st century. Fans of labels like Tesco and Unrest Productions will find plenty to enjoy here.
Spore Spawn - OwaranaikedoSpore Spawn is at the forefront of an emerging younger generation of Japanese noise artists that are expanding on the country's long history of extreme sound. Familiar references to the dynamic harsh noise of acts like Killer Bug and Pain Jerk are blended with passages of tense electronics that give each side of this tape a unique and highly narrative feel. Exquisite composition and masterful noise violence will leave you wanting more.
Limbs Bin - Shelf DreamsChaotic blastcore superstar Limbs Bin presents 28 new studio tracks on the A-Side and a blistering live set on the B-side. Furiously pummeling noise from one of America's great one-man bands. Pure excellence.
Jackson-Pratt - Underdark TerrorJackson-Pratt has quickly established himself as one of the best new American harsh noise artists through a series of blistering live performances as well as tapes on Dead Gods and Monorail Trespassing. Avoiding confinement to particular sub-genres or "flavors of the month," Jackson-Pratt expertly combines crunch, feedback, and punishing walls of noise for a fresh take on the classic "Americanoise" sound. I can't think of many artists that sounded this good this early in their career. Jackson-Pratt is truly ahead of the game, and New Forces is grateful to be able to document this upward trajectory.
Kjostad - Dirge4 new tracks from Kjostad exploring somewhat darker sonic and emotional territory. A collision of organic and electronic elements that alternates between foreboding ambiance and full-on harsh pummeling. The ship is sinking and the animals know it, and if you stand outside in the woods at midnight they'll let you know.
