Esplendor Geométrico - 1980-1981 Prehistoric Sounds - Necrosis en la Poya and more

RELEASE DATE: 15 JULY 2012. Special deluxe Edition, limited to 1000 numbered copies of a hard cardboard box set which includes three 7" singles (each with its own sleeve), a CD in slim cardboard sleeve, an 8-page booklet, and a card. It contains the first material recorded by Esplendor Geométrico between 1980-1981. One of the singles included their first demo, recorded after their formation, with three tracks of industrial-minimal-tecno pop among which is the well known "Moscú está helado". This demo was sent in 1980 to the German label Ata Tak, run by Der Plan, who chose "Moscú..." for their legendary compilation "Fix Planet!". The second single is a facsimile reissue of "Necrosis en la poya", originally released in 1981 and which already shows EG´s shift towards harsher industrial rhythms. Finally, the third single includes four tracks recorded in 1981 soon after "Necrosis...". Three of them are previously unreleased and were found recently on an old, lost reel tape. The CD includes the ten tracks from the singles plus another five extra tracks from the same period, originally released on the cassette "Esplendor Geométrico 1980-1981". The 8-page booklet features texts, designs and period photos. All tracks have been remastered and the artwork is by Juan Carlos Sastre, professional designer, founding member of EG and also author of the tracks lyrics (Móscú está helado, Negros hambrientos...). Only the boxes sold through our website included as EXCLUSIVE gift three E.G. badges.

Incapacitants - A Child Who Watched The Sky And So On - Singled-Sided 12"

Anyone who gets this, please inform me if it´s the same digital ilk as the latest 7" and the short studio tracks on the Dogma Chase LP. I never thought i'd say this, but if it is I could really live without this one-sided LP.

It seems Steinklang just put out the new Vasilisk LP in ltd ed 80 copies (yes, eighty). Not bad releases, but I guess for reason they expect interest nowadays ain't massive?

I think it also may be due trying to stir some interest in the release overall? Also Steinklang has made announcement of new vinyl pressing plant with small editions available, but i'm not sure they're really connected? I actually ordered the Vasilisk LP but don't have any really high hopes.

I didn't check out the small edition vinyl thing, but I know one pressing plant in netherlands who just while ago announced they're looking for "agents" to arrange work for them. Doing 100 copies vinyl with covers etc.
Vasilisk is decent release, yet it didn't awake any real or strong emotional responses. Just kind of "good, they didn't suck bad - as I expected", hah..

DEATHPILE - g.r. - LP

From 1995 to 2004 Jonathan Canady led the classic american power electronics band Deathpile, which culminated in the 2003 release of G.R., the band's final album. Co-released by Force of Nature Productions and Hospital Productions, the album instantly set a new benchmark in extreme music, providing a fully realized, investigative, confrontational intensity, while exploring the perspective of the perpetrator, in this case one Gary Ridgway. Longtime industrial and experimental musician David E. Williams provides masterful analogue synth work alongside Canady's devastating vocal performance, which stands as one of the most powerful in all of extreme music's history, a testament to controlled chaos and full immersion into the most challenging of subject matters.

Canady's dynamic artistic contributions have included time at Relapse Records as art director, releasing albums as Dead World on Nuclear Blast, Relapse and Release, exhibiting internationally as a visual artist, as well as operating the Malsonus label, responsible for 1999's definitive " The Sound of Sadism" compilation, among others.

Ten years on, G.R.'s cultural influence is felt in print, covered in "Gathering of the Tribe: Music and Heavy Conscious Creation" by Mark Goodall, and sonically, as one of the high marks in all of american power electronics. Mastered by Scott Hull of Pig Destroyer, Deathpile's G.R. is now made available for the first time on vinyl in an edition of 500.
