The Loved Ones being blamed for a murder is truly ridiculous. It's a really silly, campy and enjoyable tumblr generation film but about as sinister as Child's Play 3, and no-one would blame that for a crime ;)
Interesting to see Ovenden go down. I was very much torn during the trial, knowing how pissed off the Met were with him yet weighing up how difficult it would have been to get, what was it, four witnesses perjuring themselves? I think pretty much it seems like he did overstep the mark and take liberties with his models quite a bit all those years ago. The Through A Glass Darkly series (published first by the police according to him in his trial) sounds very intriguing from a forensic kind of viewpoint: a cheap and lazy Biblical excuse/reference in the title. For that sort of thing, he's better than the nauseating and saccharine David Hamilton, not as good as Jock Sturges whose photographs can take your breath away. It's a limited kind of art. Lord Alistair McAlpine is his biggest collector apparently. It was his cousin Jimmie who liked the Welsh boys and golf.
